8th House in Capricorn
A. N. Ryzhov. House Cusps in the Signs
Death from cold, dropsy, or violent causes.
Avesalom Podvodny. Houses in the Signs of the Zodiac
The mountain goat falls from the cliff. This position promises long and difficult changes of egregores: family, work, place of residence. The issue of marriage or dismissal may drag on for years, requiring the person to recognize something that is clearly not given to them, or to achieve a combination of flexibility and purposefulness that is very difficult for them, and as a result, the person often prefers to simply wait. Meanwhile, this position of the 8th house has great karmic significance. Karma attaches great importance to the choice of the current egregore (family, work, social environment). Here, one should neither rush nor be lazy, but carefully and thoroughly contemplate the signs of fate and primarily work on oneself, creating the necessary conditions through one’s own efforts. In the defeat of Capricorn, deep complexes and phobias may arise, a feeling of “I am at the bottom of a deep and terrible well and will never get out of it.” Psychological crises are protracted, and the person often associates them with specific life circumstances, especially a poor connection with a collective. However, the goal of these crises is, first and foremost, spiritual development, and the specific psychological problems and symptoms that arise should be perceived as signs pointing to fate and life goals, after which the crisis should resolve itself. If this does not happen, prolonged depression and, over time, personality degradation are possible. Relations with collectives are complicated: the person takes a long time to integrate, and once integrated, perceives collective ethics as the foundation of their own (in defeat, the person is often rejected by the collective, at best ideologically). With a harmonious chart, they may long, faithfully, and devotedly serve group interests, and the collectives they join are usually successful. There may be a skeptical attitude toward occultism, overly materially driven. But if they manage to connect to a magical egregore, the person can advance very far, achieving great practical success; mysticism is comprehended with difficulty, unlike magic.

Psychological crises are protracted and severe. Prolonged depressions and withdrawal into oneself are possible. In defeat, autism, deep complexes and phobias, and even personality degradation are possible. Processing requires spiritual development, perceiving psychological problems and symptoms as signs pointing to the direction of growth. An active attitude toward risk and danger. Perhaps they create conditions for dangerous situations themselves through their lifestyle and persistence. Danger of being buried by earth or stones, freezing to death. Sometimes a karmic inheritance from unknown people. A tendency toward the magical path, the possibility of achieving much in this direction if desired.

CAPRICORN — composure and endurance in moments of danger. Concentrated will and great penetrating power. Unbridled ambition. Advancement comes through the energy of the masses and extreme conditions (alone, one cannot break through). Absolute fearlessness, ready to die for a goal. Ruthlessness toward others and oneself. Life changes are long and protracted. Death is prolonged, resulting from a chronic illness (deep senility may be possible).
