Ketu in Taurus

Ketu in Taurus

Avesalom Podvodny. Planets in the Zodiac Signs

In this position, the individual learns to accept revolutionary changes within themselves, in social life, and in life circumstances. They would like to rest, believing that the journey of their soul is complete. They are so exhausted from past-life memories of the yoke of their earthly burden that they desperately seek stability and peace. As a result, they struggle to develop the strength for future transformations. They cling tenaciously to old behavioral patterns that once served them well in previous incarnations. They are accustomed to accomplishing tasks by straining their physical strength. Like an ox plowing a field, they move slowly and laboriously through life, as if it were one long straight furrow. They expend so much physical energy that they weaken their spiritual essence to the point of blindness, unable to see any new possibilities beyond the dull and monotonous existence they have grown accustomed to. This individual finds it difficult to learn from others; they would rather forge their own path. As a result, in every phase of growth, they expend more time, effort, and energy than necessary. Yet they feel they must be self-assured. Their need for certainty and reliability is so great that even when they make changes in their life, these are not true transformations but merely variations of the same behavioral patterns they have always employed. In past incarnations, the individual was highly sensitive to their environment. To cope with this, they began early in life to explore the world of sensory impressions. They learned what feels good and how to obtain it. Nevertheless, they never achieve lasting or complete satisfaction. They do not understand that one appetite gives rise to another. An excessive need for possession hinders their ability to enjoy what they do not own. As a result, they engage in prolonged battles for ownership over people, things, and ideas. They stubbornly cling to everything that crosses their path. The more they accumulate, the more they corner themselves. What was once a past-life need for acquiring property now becomes an unnecessary burden. Over the years, their load grows heavier. They seek to feel influential in order to find temporary refuge from the oppressive sense of failure that tormented them in previous incarnations. Thus, even in this life, they pursue roles that grant them authority and a position of respect. In past lives, the individual suffered such severe damage to their ego that now they desperately seek to prove their worth. If others detect even the slightest flaw in them, it triggers deep depression, and they will strive for success at any cost. It is almost certain that in this life, the intensity of their karma will bind them—at least indirectly—to the sphere of law enforcement. When this individual reaches their North Node in Scorpio, they undergo a complete transformation. They begin to dismantle old behavioral patterns, burning bridges behind them. Experience teaches them how to sever ties cleanly so as not to carry the past into the future. Their greatest growth occurs when they can let go. Their inner dependencies must be transformed into complete independence of thought and action. With each passing year, their strength grows as they slowly purge from their consciousness everything that oppresses them. They must learn to objectively examine the results of their subconscious desires in order to earn self-respect through the practice of self-discipline. This nodal position symbolizes a soul that has long traveled a path of decline. Now, the vessel of the soul must be turned upside down to free itself from the decay it has accumulated. The karmic fulfillment of this overturning process is deeply painful for the individual, as they may lose everything they once held dear. Ultimately, they will surrender more than they ever expected. This transformation is so profound that many with this nodal position often spend their later years in solitude. In the process of shedding excess, they discard everything except themselves. Yet much of this shedding is necessary if the individual is to reach the point where they can clearly see themselves on the deepest levels. From this symbolic death of all they once possessed, a new life emerges. The house position of the South Node indicates the area that has become decadent due to past incarnations. The house position of the North Node points to the path of rebirth in the current life.
