Royal Wedding – A Sad Analysis of a Great Day

April 2011 was like thunderous rumblings that ended in clear skies and the scent of ozone. After the Libyan bombings and grim news from the country where Strontium rises, society simply savored the details of Prince William’s wedding with delight.

Weddings are a magical ritual, the apotheosis of love and joy. In the subconscious of many, despite centuries of failed marriages, weddings still sound like a celebration. Indeed, many television channels tirelessly glorify the importance of the event, thus conveying pleasant excitement to viewers. And the people, as always, demand “bread and circuses”…

English astrologer Penny Thornton cautiously tries to convey the idea that the formation of a new family would do well to align with a favorable expression of the stars.

Ah, how much astrologers could do for the world if they could convince people to act in harmony with the celestial rhythm, but alas, civilization relies on relentless logic, brutally sidelining the sacred knowledge of the Cosmos that has accumulated over centuries.

So let us turn to the prosaic and the logical. Astrology is a perfectly logical science, and looking at the cosmograms of Kate and William, we can say that the concept of ” family ” on one hand strongly attracts both (on the birthdays of both, the Moon in their charts is in the sign of Cancer), which naturally brings them closer in terms of emotionality and daily life. Both are characterized by sensitivity and the search for a kindred spirit, a desire to understand each other at a glance. On the other hand, family remains something abstract.

In Kate Middleton’s cosmogram, the Moon in Cancer is in fact in opposition to the Sun in Capricorn, indicating a search for eternal balance between intuition and logic, the manifested and the unmanifested. On one hand, the key word of Capricorn—”I use”—led her to marriage and the crown of a princess, while on the other, her vulnerable Cancerian Moon hopes that a civil marriage will be warm and heartfelt. The embodiment of family life—Venus—in Kate’s chart is in conjunction with retrograde Mercury in Aquarius, meaning that in a past incarnation, there was an issue with love that needs to be resolved in this life. Aquarian Venus has an Uranian, unpredictable nature, and additionally, the tense aspect between Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio may indicate conflict in family life. There is no direct tense aspect (square) between Kate’s and William’s Venuses, but their views on family life and tastes diverge.

Prince William’s cosmogram shows that his Sun is in the last degrees of Gemini (in anaretic degree), meaning it will be difficult for such a person to assert their will… Notable is Mars in Libra, close to Saturn (though this configuration is also present in Kate’s chart, as they were born in the same year). Libra always symbolizes unions (and marriage falls into this category). Currently, Saturn, wise yet restrictive, is transiting this sign, and on the wedding day, it forms an opposition to Venus in Aries. Thus, the symbol of family life—Venus—is not in the best position. In William’s cosmogram, natal Venus is at the 26th degree of Taurus, indicating tenderness, calm, and a quiet nature. William’s idea of a stable marriage is more clearly defined, though the configuration of Lilith (Black Moon) in Capricorn disturbs it—this mythical planet always adds a drop of tar to life. The prince’s chosen one is a woman born under the sign of Capricorn, meaning sooner or later, the marital discord seeded in Mars and Saturn in Libra in both charts will activate. Lilith will bring disappointment to his companion, and for now, on the wedding day, the transiting Moon is in Pisces. In this family, there will be no threats or scandals, and many motives will be shrouded in secrecy and the illusions of “eternal love!”… as befits a royal family.
