Moon quincunx: What prevents a person from sensing God through the senses? Atheism. This individual will find it difficult to understand certain inner feelings, emotions, and physical states in the areas of the Planet. The Cosmos grants him the ability to emotionally and physically sense its vibrations in these areas, but this requires a certain inner tuning and purity—specifically, of the physical and astral bodies. At a low level, this may manifest as ordinary earthly circumstances in the Planet’s spheres barely affecting the person emotionally, which may disturb him, as he may consider himself abnormal or deprived by fate. Yet attempts to experience the same emotions as others will end in failure and collapse. The proper approach, on the contrary, lies in eliminating coarse emotions and physical excesses in the Planet’s spheres and carefully attuning to (the only ones truly satisfying for the person) cosmic vibrations, subjectively perceived as superhuman, abstract, etc. For example, the Moon-Venus quincunx produces a person for whom ordinary social and sexual relationships will not bring deep satisfaction—they will merely skim the surface of his feelings, and this is as it should be: in social interaction (and especially in love) he is attuned to subtle cosmic vibrations, and all his attempts to be “like everyone else” and profane these higher feelings will result in inner nausea, despair, sorrow, and protest—understanding the true causes of which will be quite difficult for him. Working with the Moon quincunx leads to a refined, instinctive attunement to cosmic radiations in the Planet’s spheres (a cosmic medium)—a person who can give much to others, provided he inwardly, subconsciously, accepts cosmic ethics in these areas; however, this always entails enormous sacrifices from the ego. Chiron quincunx: One should wash one’s hands before playing with words. This aspect brings in the Planet’s spheres a peculiar sense of humor with a cosmic undertone; indeed, viewing earthly relationships from a cosmic perspective inherently provides ample cause for genuine laughter (or equally genuine tears). At a low level, the aspect manifests as the person constantly shifting between earthly and cosmic perspectives in the Planet’s spheres, throwing his psyche into chaos and turning constructive progress into wandering through blind alleys. True, each such episode will be brief, but the person fails to find a satisfactory way of behavior, and, most importantly, cannot understand the meaning of the difficulties that arise, their origin, or cause. The karmic task of this aspect is to discover in the Planet’s spheres an unexpected way of perception that reconciles cosmic and earthly karma—then previously blocked developmental paths, long considered dead ends, will open up. For example, the Chiron-Pluto quincunx, when properly worked with, allows finding a channel of cosmic purification acceptable from the standpoint of earthly karma—relatively painless and not creating great tension or karmic knots. But for this, the person must first attain such a level of mastery and purity of the subconscious that he becomes capable of Pluto. At the intermediate level, this quincunx produces black humor with a cosmic tint, set against a general background of utter hopelessness, which one must learn to overcome and transform, lest one fall into the dead end of nihilistic black teaching.
