Mars quintile: Visible life force stands in inverse relation to its evolutionary level. At a low level, and especially when Mars is afflicted (particularly if Mars is in the eighth house), this aspect may produce sadistic pleasure from the suffering of a living being parting with life; but these are extreme cases. Usually, the Mars quintile still somewhat softens its aggression, making the individual actively interested in specific forms of vital expression within the planet’s spheres, and inclined to energetically overcome backward external and internal conditions in these areas. A strong quintile of Mars to the Moon or Sun may indicate a persistent interest in biology; if Mars or the planet is in the sixth or twelfth house, activity in animal protection is possible. Affliction to the quintile brings clumsy personal expressions of vitality and external blows against it; lack of integration leads to pathological complexes. For example, Mars quintile Saturn gives a person at a moderate development level a sense of inability to harm any living being, along with personal vulnerability to external aggression—yet significantly less than the individual perceives, and far less than, for instance, with a Mars square Saturn. The quintile is still a harmonious aspect, and if not strongly afflicted, it provides a certain degree of protection, at least when the person feels and acts as a defender of life. At a low level, this aspect indicates a tendency toward primitive understanding of life manifestations, primarily as food-seeking and sexual instincts; at a high level, the ability emerges to subtly support vital processes and deeply penetrate difficult, backward forms. Chiron quintile: Life, unlike the person studying it, never reaches a dead end. This is a highly promising aspect if one undertakes its integration, as it grants in the planet’s spheres the perception and materialization of life in forms where it was previously almost imperceptible. For example, Chiron quintile Moon gives abilities to perceive the human biofield and organs; at a high level, healing becomes possible through “conversations” with various body parts and internal organs as living beings possessing certain character traits and rudimentary consciousness (according to yogic teachings, the liver is stubborn and responds best to gentle persuasion, and so on). The Chiron quintile may produce anecdotal manifestations of life in objects and the most unexpected moments (a hot frying pan, alive, slips from the hands and runs under the cabinet), creating unimaginable chaos of uncontrolled life expressions that initially seem humorous, but, when systematically repeated over a prolonged period, may deeply penetrate the subconscious or fundamentally expand one’s understanding of life and responsibilities toward it. For example, Mercury quintile Chiron in the fourth house may mean that the person will have to rationally recognize as alive certain family members who (as initially seems) completely lack this quality, at least in the areas ruled by Mercury. Yet eventually, the Chiron quintile provides an exit from developmental dead ends of life, including family life.
