In its positive interpretation, the Earth element embodies such traits as psychological and emotional stability, responsibility, diligence, practicality, kindness, and the ability to care for loved ones.
If Earth is weak in the birth chart or entirely absent, it does not mean the person cannot be a practically minded altruist. In such cases, a strong indication of “Earthly” abilities will be Saturn in the horoscope, provided it is well-placed by sign (for example, in Libra) and connected with the luminaries, especially the Moon. As a result, even two planets in your chart, located in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn, as well as their astrological connection with Saturn, will give you clear Earth qualities in your character—specifically in the areas of life governed by your “Earth” planets.
What kind of father are you?
According to my observations, the best fathers are men with a strongly expressed Earth sign (at the time of their birth, the Sun or Moon were in these signs), particularly Taurus by the Moon in their charts. And if Saturn is also in a favorable aspect to the Moon, such fathers can truly be described as both a father and a mother in one person. I hope your father is just like that 🙂 Personally, I give preference to men with the Moon in Taurus when choosing the ideal father.
Taurus men are very altruistic, much like Pisces. However, men born under Pisces without Earth energies in their chart often lack psychological stability and are overly sensitive, which hinders their ability to be objective fathers and often leads to weakness—either toward the child or themselves—shifting responsibility onto others. Yet, a Pisces man can make an excellent father if his Moon is in Taurus. Then, he is simply amazing—he understands the child, acts as a great psychologist and a perfect nanny: he will change diapers and cook porridge. The only downside is that he may be cunning in personal relationships with his wife. These are the nuances Pisces brings to character.
Here’s another example of the ideal father: a Capricorn with the Moon in Leo and the Moon in aspect to Saturn. In this case, the character has slightly different traits: Capricorns may have less developed emotional depth, but they excel in their ability to shape their children into strong individuals with independent judgment and high moral standards. This father will be a true pillar of strength and support for his children in difficult times. Such a father should entrust all care and comfort to his beloved to create a stable and stress-free home life for them. And if Jupiter is also the first planet in the chart, he is truly irreplaceable. A high need for self-sacrifice is formed here under the influence of Leo and Jupiter. The only drawback is that in trying to make others happy, he may forget about himself, leading to relationship difficulties over the years.
Frankly speaking, the term “ideal father” is quite broad and ambiguous. I have tried to describe only the main astrological indicators I usually observe in fathers who are deeply loved and adored by their children. However, based on my observations, I cannot say that a wonderful father is always also a wonderful husband. It’s no surprise—we are all human, and nothing human is alien to us.
