Mars Decile: The strength of humanism spoils the appetite of the man-eater. This aspect (in principle) ennobles the planet, making the person’s activity in its spheres humanistically oriented; at least, they will have corresponding impulses, though not imperative ones. This aspect brings sensitivity in the planet’s spheres to any external aggression perceived as inhumane, and also applies to the person’s own aggression (in the planet’s spheres), which is either impossible or leads to strong pangs of conscience (if conscience is present). Afflicted Mars may produce great activity in the planet’s spheres aimed at supporting and helping others, but implemented poorly—too crudely and inattentively—leading to sharply negative consequences (the person is repaid for their inappropriate and clumsy “good” with outright harm, ingratitude, and ill will). Harmonious Mars with an afflicted planet provides an intuitively correct direction for humanistic activity (their own, or others’—for their own benefit), but objectively there will be great difficulties in actualizing it. If the decile is harmonious, then despite generally good intentions, the person will find it very difficult to overcome their laziness and actually do something humanitarian in the planet’s spheres, although they themselves will receive considerable human support there; it is very important to cultivate within themselves (initially absent) a sense of gratitude toward their fate. Neptune Decile: In our time, it is very important to be renowned as humane. This aspect brings compassion for people (primarily for oneself) and a desire to alleviate their suffering; at a low level, this often occurs through deception (“lying for salvation”) and drugs. The individual, when acting inhumanely in the planet’s spheres, subsequently feels intense guilt and shame, thus striving to avoid such situations even in minor matters, or else rationalizing to convince themselves that what they did ultimately benefited someone else; however, when Neptune activates, logical arguments offer little help. A well-integrated aspect provides deep understanding of the humanistic aspects of the planetary principle and its humane application in the planet’s spheres; at a high level—religious and mystical understanding of human existence: prophets and religious philosophers of a humanistic orientation. Generally, this decile provides gentle protection by fate: when the person’s situation in the planet’s spheres becomes truly unbearable, they may (consciously or unconsciously) plead for help, and divine grace will alleviate their suffering. With a strong Neptune, distinguishing humanity toward others from inhumanity in the planet’s spheres will not be easy, and the person must exercise caution.
