Decile of Mars: The force of humanism spoils the appetite of the cannibal. This aspect (in theory) ennobles the Planet, making the person’s activity in its spheres humanistically oriented; at least, they will have corresponding impulses, though not imperative ones. This aspect brings sensitivity in the Planet’s spheres to any external aggression perceived as inhumane, and also applies to the person’s own aggression (in the Planet’s spheres)—either it is impossible, or it leads to strong pangs of conscience (if conscience exists). Afflicted Mars may produce great activity in the Planet’s spheres with the aim of supporting and helping others, but implemented poorly, too crudely and inattentively, leading to sharp negative consequences (the person is repaid for their inappropriate and clumsy “goodness” with outright harm, ingratitude, and ill will). Harmonious Mars with an afflicted Planet provides an intuitively correct direction for humanistic activity (one’s own, or others’—for oneself), but objectively there will be great difficulties in its realization. If the decile is harmonious, then, despite generally good intentions, the person will find it very hard to overcome their laziness and actually do something humanistic in the Planet’s spheres, even as they themselves receive great human support there; it is very important to develop within themselves (initially absent) a sense of gratitude toward their fate. Decile of Uranus: While formulating a concept of humanism, one should not outpace their time. In the Planet’s spheres, the person will have extraordinary and often fantastic humanistic ideas, both regarding humanity as a whole and specific individuals. The decile, of course, softens Uranus’ influence, but the recipient of the humanistic act will still need some time to recover, gathering the remnants of their sense of humor and comforting themselves with the thought that the person clearly meant well. The decile of Uranus also provides a certain humanism and protection of the person’s fate in the areas ruled by the Planet, but again in Uranus’ characteristic style—often at the last moment, or through a harsh energetic impact. Much here depends on the level of integration of Uranus and on the ability and willingness to read and heed Uranian signs of fate. A brilliant example of skillful interpretation of the signs of Uranus’ decile was given by Ilya Muromets, who greeted the passing crippled pilgrims who visited him, as a result receiving heroic strength and accomplishing numerous humanistic, by the standards of his time, feats. At a low level, in the Planet’s spheres the person may be very capricious and sensitive, perceiving completely innocent behaviors of others toward them as inhumane.
