Sesquiquadrate Mercury: The person is not given to grasp the truth expressed in words. This aspect creates awkwardness in movement and crudeness in thinking in the areas governed by the planet; however, the person often will not notice this and will insist on their own opinions. For example, a sesquiquadrate between Mercury and the Moon may result in poor memory and rigid thinking, yet the knowledge and reasoning that are difficult to assimilate will be constantly exploited by the person and serve as dogma—both true and false—wherever possible, and even where it is not, and it will be very difficult to convince them rationally. The sesquiquadrate of Mercury is difficult to work through, as the person, feeling the rigidity of their mind in the areas governed by the planet, either gives up on themselves in this regard or, conversely, carefully suppresses these flaws into the subconscious and convinces themselves of the undeniable significance and power of their own thoughts, rejecting other ways of thinking. At a low level of processing the aspect, but adorned with authority, such a person may become an official ideologue in the areas governed by the planet, whose logical schemes will rest on two cornerstones: Correspondence and Non-Correspondence to the sacred Truth, which has been definitively found and irrevocably formulated in their works. At a high level of processing, the person finds subtlety and clarity of thought capable of precisely directing efforts and carefully constructing a mental model in the areas governed by the planet, to the extent and in the manner possible.
Sesquiquadrate Pluto: The flour that sifts from the millstones of history is usually raw—stained with blood. At a low level, this aspect gives an overly schematic view of flaws and vices in the areas governed by the planet, overly straightforward methods, and rigid tools for their eradication, which, with strong energy, can make the person a merciless tyrant, leading the people unyieldingly toward a bright future while they resist desperately. However, the same rigid tools will also be felt by the person themselves, and here they will face one of the most unpleasant variants: a mechanical one, where the true causes of irreversible losses remain far beyond the person’s vision, and they are powerless to oppose fate. The karmic tasks of this aspect are to realize the imperfection of their cleansing tools in the areas governed by the planet and the crudeness of their perception of the flaws in these areas, and most importantly—to illuminate their evolutionary tails in the sphere of the planet and either destroy or transform them; only after this does the person find subtle tools and vision in the areas governed by the planet, allowing them to separate the wheat from the chaff without crushing a single cow from the collective farm herd with their winnowing fan.
