Sesquiquadrate of Mercury: A person is not granted to comprehend the truth expressed in words. This aspect brings awkwardness of movements and crudeness of thinking in the spheres of the planet; however, the person often will not notice this and will insist on their own opinions. For example, a sesquiquadrate between Mercury and the Moon may result in poor memory and rigidity of thought, yet the knowledge and reasoning barely assimilated will be constantly exploited by the person and serve as truth and falsehood wherever possible, and even where it is not, and it will be very difficult to convince them rationally. The sesquiquadrate of Mercury is difficult to work through, as the person, feeling the stiffness of their mind in the spheres of the planet, either gives up on it entirely or, on the contrary, carefully suppresses these flaws into the subconscious and convinces themselves of the undeniable significance and power of their thoughts, rejecting other ways of thinking. At a low level of processing the aspect, but adorned with authority, such a person may become an official ideologue in the spheres of the planet, whose logical schemes will rest on two cornerstones: Correspondence and Non-Correspondence to the sacred Truth, which has been definitively found and irrevocably formulated in their works. At a high level of processing, the person finds subtlety and clarity of thinking capable of precisely directing efforts and meticulously constructing a mental model in the spheres of the planet, to the extent and as far as possible.

Sesquiquadrate of Chiron: If you lie on your side, the higher and lower principles will respectively become the right and left. This aspect gives a tendency to use ideas and methods whose true essence is inaccessible to the person, while the side effects remain unclear and unpredictable. This is a dangerous aspect, especially for people with a strong Saturn, capable of prolonged focused activities, with deep but narrow penetration into a little-studied field. The sesquiquadrate of Chiron creates a temptation to crudely use subtle tools, the power of which may turn out to be very unexpected and turn the person from a subject into an object of a karmic experiment. A typical example of the action of an unworked sesquiquadrate of Chiron is represented by attempts at materialistic-“scientific” study and use of esoteric techniques that presuppose the vision of the astral and causal planes and are traditionally passed from teacher to prepared student. Here, dilettantism quickly leads to the person’s subordination to a rigid magical egregore and the loss of freedom of will and thought (in pronounced cases, to desocialization and mental illness). Working through the aspect provides an opportunity to breakthrough into previously inaccessible spheres of the subtle world and to adequately work in them with strange but quite real methods and tools that the person perceives as physical, although their action extends to the subtle spheres.
