Pluto – Chiron Sesquiquadrate
(Transit. Pluto → Natal Chiron)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Pluto sesquiquadrate: The flour that spills from beneath the millstones of history is usually raw—with blood. At a low level, this aspect produces an overly schematic perception of flaws and vices in the areas of the Planet, overly direct methods and harsh tools for their destruction, which, with strong energetic charge, can turn a person into a merciless tyrant, relentlessly driving a people who desperately resist toward a bright future. Yet those same harsh tools will eventually be felt by the person themselves, and here they will confront one of the most unpleasant variations of the year—mechanical, where the real causes of irreversible losses remain far beyond the person’s perception, and they are powerless to oppose fate. The karmic tasks of this aspect are to recognize the imperfection of one’s cleansing tools in the Planet’s spheres and the crudeness of one’s perception of flaws in these areas, and above all, to illuminate one’s evolutionary residues in the Planet’s sphere and transform or eliminate them; only after this does the person find subtle instruments and perception in the Planet’s areas, allowing them to separate wheat from chaff without crushing a single cow from the collective herd with their winnowing fan. Chiron sesquiquadrate: If one lies on one’s side, the upper and lower beginnings become, respectively, the right and left. This aspect creates a tendency to use ideas and methods whose true meaning is inaccessible to the person, and whose side effects are unclear and unpredictable. This is a dangerous aspect, especially for individuals with a strong Saturn capable of prolonged, focused engagement and deep but narrow penetration into poorly studied areas. The Chiron sesquiquadrate brings the temptation to crudely employ subtle instruments, whose power may manifest very unexpectedly and turn the person from a subject into an object of a karmic experiment. A typical example of the unprocessed sesquiquadrate of Chiron is represented by attempts at materialistic-“scientific” study and application of esoteric techniques that presuppose perception of the astral and causal planes and are traditionally transmitted from teacher to prepared student. Here, amateurism quickly leads to subjugation under a rigid magical egregore and loss of free will and thought (in pronounced cases, to desocialization and mental illness). Proper integration offers the possibility of breakthrough into previously practically inaccessible realms of the subtle world, and of working adequately within them using strange but entirely real methods and instruments which the person perceives as physical, although their effect extends into subtle spheres.
