Saturn in Aquarius

Saturn in Aquarius

Het Monster: Saturn in Aquarius Here, the sign of the individualist is occupied by the planet of traditions. Children born during the period when I was writing this book (1992–93) had Saturn in Aquarius. Perhaps this will be a generation that will give life to the ideas of the “New Age.” They will possess Saturnian qualities of responsibility and inner structure, but it is unlikely that this structure will turn out to be the one their parents expect or desire. They will not change things simply for the sake of change; instead, they will systematically demonstrate the usefulness of a new path.

Here, Saturn is in its own sign and indicates a good understanding of matters related to philosophy and mysticism. These people are, in some ways, unusual and eccentric. They are susceptible to the influence of wine and women; they engage in various occupations. One can expect a long life, creative abilities, generosity, and friendliness.

Here, Saturn is in its nocturnal domicile, while during the day, it is under the rulership of the second lord—Uranus. This is one of Saturn’s pleasant positions, where it manifests with the least degree of restriction of its essential nature. For your development, you will undoubtedly need some original system. Your path of development will be unconventional, and well-trodden paths hold no significance for you. You will evolve through your own induction, and your developmental path will be highly unusual. In most cases, you know how to find like-minded people and can act as a magnet for others. In the best scenario, fate provides you with unexpected opportunities for growth, but it demands complete freedom of spirit—under constraint, Saturn dims. You will never cease to be amazed. Typically, you are very attentive and observant, do not rush to conclusions, and take your time, observing events and circumstances before making your choice. Moreover, you may judge impartially and unexpectedly for others. It is not you who draws conclusions, but life itself that does so. It is quite possible that you even tend to experiment with life, bringing people together without malice, simply out of curiosity about the outcome. Deep down, you always have a sense of wholeness; you possess a strong inner core, do not rush or fuss, perhaps knowing that everything comes in its own time. This manifests as a somewhat detached observer’s perspective. It is also quite possible that you have strong mathematical abilities. For a good mathematician, Uranus and the signs associated with it must be well-activated. Like water dripping on stone, you follow a system. You have the ability to do everything in its own time, to wait for the most favorable moment, preferring to delay rather than rush. You know how to find people who resonate with you spiritually. The worst traits include confusion bordering on intrigue in matters of moral values. In its lower form, this may manifest as taking a position of non-interference and silent tolerance of injustice, setting people against each other, observing the results of these manipulations, and seeking increasingly refined forms of self-gratification. Aquarius is associated with the division of people based on spiritual criteria, the division of Good and Evil—so you must have a clear ethical stance. In the worst case, if ethical boundaries are lost, you simply observe the injustice unfolding before you, adopting the position of a detached observer. Such a person may strive to sever all ties, and you may even tend to view everything that happens with a kind of “switched-off” gaze. Saturn in Aquarius teaches a sense of timing, the ability to “switch off” from time, to perceive it as a flexible concept that allows for its full utilization. At the same time, it helps manifest the inner freedom of the individual, teaching not to draw conclusions or generalizations until life itself suggests which conclusion is correct. In society, this time is and will be favorable for inventors and reformers; unconventional forms of society and a unique collectivism may emerge. During this period, pivotal historical events occur, as Russia is under the sign of Aquarius. Saturn was in Aquarius from 1991 to 1994.

Saturn brings to the forefront the sign’s issues; in the case of Aquarius, it raises two problems: interaction with the external world and with the subtle world. Saturn makes Aquarius very serious and significantly facilitates their contact with the external world; they are practical, strive to maintain a consistent general line, and are not prone to recklessness. However, Uranian influence is still felt here, albeit subtly; even in Saturnian Aquarius, original and often unexpected ideas constantly arise, requiring development and implementation, and their fate depends on the level of Saturn’s development. An undeveloped Saturn gives an intellectual skeptic; they test all ideas (including their own) from a narrowly practical standpoint and subject everything new or unexpected to decisive doubt. The future appears to them as a simple linear continuation of the present, and their thinking is confined within the narrow framework of childhood perceptions. However, great methodicalness and consistency in thought are possible, especially with harmonious Saturn. As Saturn develops, Aquarius begins to pay more attention to their original ideas and attempts to explore them more seriously, relying on Saturnian discipline. Yet, the limited progress in creating an adequate symbolic language for perceiving subtle information is hindered by Saturn’s lack of imagination, and for a long time, nothing comes of it. Instead, Aquarius often successfully exploits the single original idea approved by Saturn. A developed Saturn is characterized by Aquarius’s constant, keen attention to the original ideas that come to mind; they attempt to classify them and gradually develop a fairly sophisticated language with which they can discuss specific issues of interest with their egregore in detail, after which they propose theories and concepts to the world that are largely ready for practical application. However, their hallmark is always the thorough consideration of the final outcome of their research, following the motto: “There is nothing more practical than a good theory.” Yet, at all levels of Saturn’s development, Aquarius cannot escape the characteristic rigidity of thought, which is especially felt in contacts with the egregore. They may meticulously sharpen the tools they themselves have created, but the number of such tools (as it seems to them) is always limited; free creative flight over the vast expanses of the mental plane of the subtle world is not granted to them, and they always feel this acutely, at least subconsciously.

Good concentration ability. Thoughts are unbiased and abstract. The main focus is on truth, higher spiritual development, and addressing all societal and scientific issues through the lens of higher universal laws. Ability to gather focus and concentrate. After a series of trials, relentless struggle for reforms. Ambition, recognition through sensational scientific discoveries or new technical achievements. Modest. Strong sense of space, love for geometry, mathematical abilities. Strong sense of justice and responsibility toward others. Treat friends and colleagues loyally, with a sense of duty. Often join secret societies. Usually balanced and can help both in word and deed. Value social connections. Possible traits include egoism, desire for power, insistence on others conforming to their views, serving their own interests, emotional coldness in intimate relationships, formalism, and an overemphasis on intellectual and spiritual arrogance. You may have an innate distrust of groups or even a cynical attitude toward society, which can lead to feelings of alienation and exclusion from the mainstream, making it difficult to participate fully alongside others. An important task for you is to overcome the sense of detachment and estrangement from others.
