Mars bi-quintile: The fallen are not beaten: people walk over them and wipe their feet. This aspect imparts activity and energy in the areas of the planet, directed toward interaction with lower forms of life. Affliction of Mars will make this energy destructive, but the person will not notice this immediately; they may sincerely believe that everything they initiate toward lower life forms benefits them (although it, being foolish and ungrateful, often fails to understand this and attempts to protest). If the planet itself is afflicted, the person may become a tormentor of lower life, a cruel governor (a more prosaic example, such as bi-quintile Mars-Mercury—a strict schoolteacher who suppresses any expression of students’ lives and is aggressively dissatisfied with their knowledge in their subject). In the harmonious variant, this aspect allows one to easily find an appropriate way to participate in the issues of lower life forms and, with minimal effort, gain great dividends from it; however, one should not speculate on this, otherwise the opportunities for expressing and developing humanity within oneself will be irreversibly lost. Proper integration enables energetic and skillful participation in the development of imperfect life, while simultaneously allowing the individual to grow, gaining the ability to soften their own lower aggressive subconscious programs by directing energy in a more refined and constructive manner. Neptune bi-quintile: Even geese have their mantras. This aspect bestows in the planetary spheres love for lower forms of life and compassion toward them; at a higher level, subtle understanding and humane attitude, where the person acts as a higher being, that is, a kind of deity. At a lower level, true understanding is absent, but the person seeks out lower life in search of lower meditations, debasing themselves to its level and achieving a lower octave of those feelings and experiences which, in the higher variant, are desirable but inaccessible without special effort. For example, Neptune bi-quintile Mercury or Neptune-Venus may produce a socially established and non-drinking person who adores conversations with vagrants, alcoholics, etc., voluntarily helping them obtain their next dose or simply providing moral support through agreement and reinforcement. Here, there is attachment to a lower form of life, but the help provided benefits less the recipient than the giver (indirect satisfaction of repressed desires for freedom and immediate joy of life). When Neptune is afflicted, various distortions in the perception of lower life forms are possible, along with inadequate (though often poorly understood why) involvement with them, and resolving the situation may be very difficult, requiring consideration of specific lower subconscious programs activated within the individual. A harmonious Neptune presents a distorted rosy picture of lower life and the person’s role within it, and even minimal successful involvement in its problems will bring the person into an euphoric state, although real results may practically be absent; nevertheless, the harmonious bi-quintile confers a natural grace radiating from the person toward lower life forms, and children and dogs will love them unconditionally.
