Moon quincunx: What prevents a person from sensing God through the senses? Atheism. This individual will find it difficult to understand certain of their inner feelings, emotions, and physical states in the areas of the Planet. The Cosmos grants them the ability to emotionally and physically sense its vibrations in these areas, but this requires a certain inner tuning and purity—specifically, of the physical and astral bodies. At a low level, this may manifest as ordinary earthly circumstances in the Planet’s spheres barely affecting the person emotionally, which may disturb them, as they may consider themselves abnormal or deprived by fate. Yet attempts to experience the same emotions as others will end disastrously. The proper approach, on the contrary, lies in eliminating coarse emotions and physical excesses in the Planet’s spheres and carefully attuning to (the only ones truly satisfying for the person) cosmic vibrations, subjectively perceived as superhuman, abstract, etc. For example, a Moon-Venus quincunx produces a person for whom ordinary social and sexual relationships do not bring deep satisfaction—they merely skim the surface of their feelings, and this is as it should be: in social interaction (and especially in love) they are attuned to subtle cosmic vibrations, and all their attempts to be “like everyone else” and profane these higher vibrations will result in inner nausea, despair, sorrow, and protest—understanding the true causes of which will be quite difficult for the person. Working through the Moon quincunx develops a subtle, instinctive attunement to cosmic radiations in the Planet’s spheres (a cosmic medium)—a person who can give much to others, if they succeed in internally, subconsciously accepting a cosmic ethic in these areas; however, this always entails enormous sacrifices from the ego. Mars quincunx: The power of evil is obvious; the power of good can be judged by the indirect sign that evil has not yet completely triumphed. This aspect creates in the Planet’s spheres a problem of energy interaction between earthly and cosmic vibrations; at a low level, the person will often lack earthly forms of energy, yet will poorly control cosmic energies, resulting in certain breakdowns. For example, a Mars-Moon quincunx may produce a healer’s talent masked by abilities in ordinary linear massage, which, however, the person will perform in a somewhat unusual manner—specifically, their hands will move almost of their own accord in critical situations, provided they can learn to trust them. The latter, however, is not at all simple, since the subconscious (both personal and collective) usually distrusts intuition, let alone movements accompanied by unusual energetic vibrations. The Mars quincunx poses in the Planet’s spheres the issue of the energy level of activity, meaning, in particular, the necessity of precisely choosing its forms and no less precise control over one’s inner energy, since the quincunx emphasizes the cosmic unacceptability of coarse emotional states and mere instinctual energy expressions. For example, with a Venus-Mars quincunx, relatively crude, yet socially fully adequate expressions of love will prove entirely unacceptable to the person from a cosmic perspective, which the Cosmos will make known to them—sometimes through rather peculiar methods. In any case, the person will eventually become convinced that in love they must be extremely cautious, and celebrated, yet not overly cautious, and celebrated. Upon proper integration—primarily requiring viewing the beloved as a spiritual being—the person will prove capable of very intimate, subtle, and deep relationships and interactions.
