Mars quincunx: The power of evil is evident; the power of good can be judged by the indirect sign that evil has not yet triumphed completely. This aspect creates in the areas of the planet a problem of interaction between energy on earthly and cosmic vibrations; at a low level, a person will often lack earthly forms of energy, while poorly mastering cosmic ones, resulting in certain breakdowns. For example, the Mars-Moon quincunx may give the talent of a healer masked by abilities in ordinary linear massage, which, however, the person will perform in a somewhat unusual way—particularly, their hands in critical situations will move almost by themselves, provided they are able to trust them. The latter, however, is not at all simple, since the subconscious (both personal and collective) usually does not trust intuition, let alone movements accompanied by unusual energetic vibrations. The Mars quincunx poses in the planet’s spheres the issue of the level of active energy, meaning, in particular, the necessity of precisely choosing its forms and no less precise control over one’s inner energy, since the quincunx emphasizes the cosmic unacceptability of coarse emotional states and mere instinctual energy expressions. For instance, with the Venus-Mars quincunx, relatively crude but socially quite adequate expressions of love will appear absolutely unacceptable to the person from a cosmic perspective, about which the Cosmos will inform them, sometimes through rather peculiar methods. So or otherwise, the person will eventually become convinced that in love they must be very, very cautious, and celebrated, yet not overly cautious—celebrated. When properly worked through, which primarily requires viewing the beloved as a spiritual being, the person will prove capable of very intimate, subtle, and deep relationships and interactions. Saturn quincunx: A person who lacks inner freedom has no moral right to demand civil freedoms. This aspect gives the person dissatisfaction with ordinary earthly means of deepening in the planet’s spheres, no matter how deeply they penetrate them, and the same applies to processing its principle within the inner world: here the person needs to hear the cosmic resonance and perceive the unearthly depth, to which they feel they have an aptitude. At a low level, of course, the person is not aware of all this, and their Saturn quincunx manifests as minor annoyances and limitations in the planet’s spheres, related to their orientation toward ordinary earthly methods of addressing corresponding issues and inability to view them from a cosmic perspective, and although subconsciously it will be quite difficult for them. Generally, this aspect produces in the planet’s spheres dissatisfaction with earthly wisdom and a desire to attain cosmic wisdom; sometimes the person will feel they are gaining insight, but initially with strong distortions, since cosmic laws can be grasped only through conscious and subconscious departure from geocentric positions and the majority of social views, which hold people very firmly, especially in serious matters. Therefore, here probable are poorly conscious jumps from cosmic orientations, which are attractive to the subconscious but suspicious, to earthly and established ones, which are reliable but unsatisfying; as a result, the problem is repressed, leaving a general vague feeling of dissatisfaction, or, especially if the quincunx is afflicted, stress develops. The processing here is difficult, but yields cosmic wisdom, insight into karma, and the ability to harmoniously weave cosmic karma into earthly life.
