Saturn’s quincunx: A person who lacks inner freedom has no moral right to demand civil liberties. This aspect gives the individual dissatisfaction with ordinary earthly means of deepening in the areas of the planet, no matter how deeply they penetrate into them, and the same applies to working with its principle in the inner world: here the person needs to hear a cosmic resonance and perceive a non-earthly depth, which they feel they are capable of. At a low level, of course, the person is not aware of all this, and their Saturn quincunx manifests as minor annoyances and limitations in the planet’s spheres, related to their orientation toward ordinary earthly methods of addressing corresponding issues and inability to view them from a cosmic perspective, and although subconsciously the quincunx will be quite difficult. Generally, this aspect brings dissatisfaction with earthly wisdom and a desire to attain cosmic wisdom in the planet’s spheres; sometimes the person may feel they are gaining insight, but initially with strong distortions, since cosmic laws can only be grasped through conscious and subconscious departure from geocentric positions and the prevailing majority of social views, which hold people very tightly, especially in serious matters. Therefore, here probable poorly conscious shifts occur—from cosmic orientations that are attractive to the subconscious but suspicious, to earthly and established views that are reliable but unsatisfying; as a result, the problem is repressed, leaving a general vague feeling of dissatisfaction, or, especially when the quincunx is afflicted, stress develops. The work here is difficult, but yields cosmic wisdom, perception of karma, and the ability to harmoniously integrate cosmic karma into earthly life. Chiron’s quincunx: One should wash one’s hands before playing with words. This aspect gives in the planet’s spheres a peculiar sense of humor with a cosmic undertone; indeed, simply viewing earthly relationships from a cosmic perspective provides ample cause for genuine laughter (or equally genuine tears). At a low level, the aspect will manifest as the person constantly shifting in the planet’s spheres between earthly and cosmic viewpoints and back again, throwing their psyche into chaos and turning constructive progress into wandering through blind alleys; true, each such episode will be brief, but the person fails to find a satisfactory way of behavior, and most importantly, cannot understand the meaning of the difficulties arising, their general origin and cause. The karmic task of this aspect is to discover in the planet’s spheres an unexpected way of perception that reconciles cosmic and earthly karma, after which previously blocked developmental pathways—seemingly dead for many years—will open up. For example, the Chiron-Pluto quincunx, when properly worked through, allows one to find a channel of cosmic purification acceptable from the standpoint of earthly karma—that is, relatively painless and not creating great tension or karmic knots—but for this, the person must first attain such a level of mastery over their subconscious and its purity that they become capable of Pluto. At a moderate level, this quincunx gives black humor with a cosmic undertone and an underlying background of utter hopelessness, which one must learn to overcome and transform, so as not to fall into the dead end of nihilistic black teaching.
