Sun quintile: As the Lord brings life to a person, He cares not only for the individual. Initiatives arising in the person within the spheres of the Planet will attract through their freshness and novelty, proving especially valuable in situations of stagnation and inertia (it is important, however, to understand that these initiatives may not necessarily arise within the Planet’s spheres, since the quintile is a minor aspect). If the Sun is afflicted, these initiatives will clash too sharply with established stereotypes, and the person, encountering prevailing resistance from the environment, may sincerely suffer, feeling how their life and sincerity are being extracted and trampled underfoot—though usually with substantial reason: these initiatives may be perceived as inadequate or outright hostile by the environment. A harmonious Sun, on the contrary, brings exceptionally appealing expressions within the Planet’s spheres, and life itself seems to smile upon the person; their initiatives become interesting to others, and they are capable, if they choose, of revitalizing other people and circumstances within the Planet’s domains—though this will encounter great difficulties if the Planet is afflicted. If both the Sun and the Planet are well-placed, and harmonious aspects are not fully worked through, they may ultimately dry out the vitality of the quintile through laziness and boredom; the frustration of the quintile will then set vitality as a condition of survival, providing the strongest impulse for its activation and development. Neptune quintile: The River of Life, flowing into the Ocean of Universal Love, begins in the swamp of Compassion. This aspect grants vitality in meditation within the Planet’s spheres; at a high level—true understanding of the planetary principle and all its manifestations. At a low level, especially when the quintile is frustrated, the person will be interested and active primarily in parasitic forms of life connected with deception, false positions, and the secret use of others’ life force within the Planet’s spheres. If Neptune is afflicted, the person may be inclined toward the lowest forms of life available in this degenerate form, and will then defend them to the detriment of others; here, work proceeds primarily within the inner world, and sometimes the person must descend to the very bottom of the corresponding puddle in order to renounce the pleasures of dirty life (which they oppose to pure non-vitality), although sometimes half its depth is sufficient: the key is only not to close one’s eyes to what is actually happening. A characteristic subconscious feeling of guilt before life in the Planet’s spheres arises here, which the person attempts to suppress or clumsily compensate for. An afflicted Planet with harmonious Neptune produces the effect of rose-colored glasses: the person is happy with any manifestations of life within the Planet’s spheres, and finds it difficult to distinguish low from high, or to understand their combinations at all, thus potentially getting into unpleasant situations by trying to protect what should not be protected from whom it should not be. A harmonious quintile grants mystical fascination with the life of the planetary principle, combined with a certain passivity and a tendency to parasitize upon it; at a high level—ability to detect life under incredible conditions and assist its development.
