Leo – the child

Your Leo child is the master of everything he surveys. Pride, self-confidence, optimism, nobility—these traits may seem innate. Leo thrives when at the center of attention. Yet his “subjects” are rewarded with abundant tenderness and generosity. A little Leo simply loves doing pleasant things for others and giving them small gifts.
Possessing a strong individuality with a tendency toward theatricality, but lacking the opportunity to be “in the spotlight,” this natural-born actor may stage a performance in a rather irritating manner. You should be aware of this when you notice your child insistently demanding your attention at an inappropriate place and time.
Never be dishonest with this child. Honesty and fairness are extremely important to Leo. This child has strong willpower and the ability to persistently pursue a chosen goal, working hard until it is achieved. But the key is the opportunity to display the accomplishment. Through this, he seeks recognition, encouragement, and respect from others, which are equally important to him. Provide your little Leo with the earliest possible opportunity to interact with other children and adults. Encourage creativity and an innate inclination toward drama; find interesting costumes or accessories in your old wardrobe—you’ll discover that dressing up and playing different roles becomes your child’s favorite pastime.
Always remember that praise and encouragement toward achieving goals will be far more effective in guiding this child than criticism.

This sign influences the heart and spine. Indeed, Leo’s heart is capable of all-consuming love. Just as energy must be directed into the right channel, love must also find its object: it is very beneficial for Leos to learn how to properly distribute love between themselves and others. They are distinguished by high self-esteem. Unfortunately, sometimes it “goes overboard,” and then one may speak of egoism and arrogance. Leos
must understand that by loving others, they allow others to love them in return. They are natural-born leaders who enjoy being in charge, but occasionally a touch of modesty wouldn’t hurt.
The spine—this is what gives Leo his proud bearing. He is always ready to accept any challenge, never bowing his head under any circumstances. When Leo enters a room, he involuntarily draws attention to himself: in all his mannerisms, he resembles the symbol of his sign—the majestic lion. He walks straight, confidently, with dignity and truly royal nobility. Leo’s manners can sometimes be described not so much as regal, but rather as proud and conceited. In such cases, he should be advised to act more simply, as otherwise normal communication with others may fail. But let the thought that he is the best remain with him. There is nothing wrong with this, as long as he learns to control his words and actions so as not to offend anyone (after all, a wise ruler must care first of all for others).
Leo is ruled by the Sun, hence purely “leonine” qualities—fire and constancy. The Sun, containing within itself the full force of life, gives Leo strength and brilliance. But remember: the same fire can burn in a fireplace, providing warmth and comfort to a home, or rage as a wildfire, bringing danger and destruction. From childhood, the Leo child must be taught that not everyone possesses such boundless energy. To some, their fire may feel scorching, frightening, causing them to keep their distance. Leo needs encouragement and approval more than anyone. Yet to achieve success and reach goals, they must consciously and purposefully choose where to direct their efforts. Hesitation will lead nowhere.
Leos feel a pressing need to take the lead and gain general recognition. If they are deprived of love and attention in childhood, their entire life may turn into an endless show. Leos are artistic, possessing refined taste. Best for them is to channel their talents and abilities on stage or in some other activity involving performance, play, and public success.
Leos strive to earn others’ respect and reach life’s heights. Like all fire signs, they are distinguished by directness and honesty. Leos dislike lying and are extremely disapproving of others’ dishonesty. They are demanding of themselves and of those they love and who surround them. Leo children are highly sensitive to others’ opinions, so they always try to do everything as well as possible, constantly striving for perfection. They expect the same attitude from others and are often surprised and disappointed to discover that many are willing to settle for less. This is unbearable for Leo—he feels personal responsibility for any task. Leo’s motto: if you want something done well—do it yourself! Those born under this sign know how to assemble a “team” and give sensible orders; they delve into all the nuances and meticulously develop any plan.
From childhood, the Leo child must be taught that his actions and behavior are evaluated differently by different people. Moreover, life is simply too short to attempt the unattainable. One might quickly undermine one’s health (the heart!). When your child learns to assess the world more objectively, he will understand that others have different desires and needs. One must accept people as they are. Once this is understood, Leo will give warmth and love to others, enriching both his own life and that of his loved ones.
Regarding raising a little Leo, he should always be treated with respect, never touching his sense of personal dignity. Never threaten his independence—you will face an impregnable fortress. The best way to reach understanding with the child is to praise his diligence and hard work. If you tell the child he worked well, next time he will strive to do even more and even better. Even if the child made a mistake, he will subsequently make every effort. If your little Leo is upset or unusually sullen and aggressive, suggest going for a walk with you in nature. This will calm the child.
Without Leos, the world would be colorless, devoid of reckless courage and uncompromising conviction. Those born under this sign believe in themselves and their abilities and are capable of inspiring others. In short, Leo is life itself—boiling over with energy! And how dull, gloomy, and sorrowful the earth would be without them!
Yet there is one “but.” A little Leo, whose horoscope contains unfavorable combinations, may grow into a Cowardly Lion. He will cry and whine like a kitten, seeking protection and help. Like Dorothy, you can help him gain a courageous heart through love and belief in himself.
Your Leo will always look to the future with optimism. This is an active, creative mind, a devoted nature, generous in thought and means (sometimes this generosity may be excessive—Leo’s nobility is not hard to exploit). Help the child recognize his strength—and he will achieve success.
