Twins – Child

With your little Gemini child, you will sometimes feel as though you have at least two children in one, and both resemble little birds flying through the air too quickly to be caught and held. Life with a Gemini can never be called boring! This child will always be busy, practically never still, and will always have something to tell you—sometimes much more than you want to hear. A Gemini is a lively, noisy, witty, and bright child. Provide them with plenty of space to move around and lots to keep them occupied. However, do not expect them to stick with one activity for long. Patience is not a strong trait of Gemini; boredom comes easily. Do not be surprised if your child can do several things at once. Patience will have to become YOUR strong trait. Your task is to learn how to sustain your child’s interest in a task long enough to see results. Otherwise, they may grow into someone who starts many things but finishes nothing. Do not count on this child remembering a promise to do something or arrive on time. You may try leaving reminder notes for them once they learn to read (which will likely happen very early).

The element of Gemini is air. And what is air? It is what surrounds us, constantly in motion. So here is the main distinguishing feature and best characteristic of a Gemini’s lifestyle—changeability. You never know what thought will cross their mind next! Changeability implies flexibility, adaptability, rapid mood shifts, and unpredictability. Gemini children are clever, mobile, and intelligent. They are full of energy—sometimes even excessively so. At least parents usually have to be on their toes. These children often take on many tasks at once. For the active nature of a Gemini, boredom can literally be deadly. These children absorb everything instantly, mimicking all zodiac signs at once—so do not be surprised to see your child pick up your own bad habits. Their mind is so active and restless that it constantly needs new nourishment. They always require fresh impressions. If there are none, the child will find a way to provide them themselves. And then, beware! The lively and sharp mind of a Gemini gives them a bright sense of humor. Sometimes their remarks are not entirely harmless and may seem overly biting or frivolous. But to the Gemini themselves, it is nothing more than a joke. Gemini love to talk and can be real chatterboxes. They have little sense of ownership. Of course, like everyone else, they can be happy about a new thing, but as soon as it is theirs, it gets lost or broken. Gemini children are constantly in search of new impressions, situations, and events. Their attention shifts instantly from one thing to another; they are ready for something new every minute.

If you can encourage your little one to read, you will solve a very important problem: you will give their curious mind something to occupy itself with. Such children naturally have good dexterity and enjoy crafts, which they do quite well. The astrological symbol of Gemini—the twins—characterizes the duality of their nature. Sometimes it seems as though two different people coexist in one body. Try to make your child aware that such a trait is perceived by others as inconsistency and unreliability. Thanks to their agility and quick reactions, many Gemini become decent athletes. Those born under this sign generally love to play. Sometimes they tend to perceive life itself as a game—so carefree is their fluttering from one impression to another. Children with such a mindset always need explanations as to why certain measures were taken or why their actions were logical. Another effective method is isolation. Gemini have a strong need for communication and cannot stand loneliness. They love to chat. Forced silence will be punishment enough for them.

Gemini are far from always being attentive listeners. They prefer to talk. And sometimes they do not bother to pay much attention to the problems of their conversation partner. Try to explain to your child that communication is a two-way street. They must understand that it is just as important to give the other person a chance to speak. Gemini adapt very easily. Nothing frightens them—not moving to a new house or transferring to a new school. On the contrary, it excites them—new acquaintances can be made! Of course, for Gemini, any traditions or rituals play a very minor role. Their communication and perception happen on an intellectual rather than emotional level. Overly emotional people may be incomprehensible to Gemini. Teach your child to be tolerant of others’ emotional expressions.

Give them more food for the mind—these airy natures crave it so. And then you will fully enjoy your little Gemini.
