Saturn’s sesquiquadrate: When deeply drilling the well of the inner world, instead of a fountain of spirituality, crude oil may gush forth. This aspect is not as harsh as Saturn’s square, yet more insidious, as it gives the person a sense of deep penetration into the areas ruled by the planet, but this depth is largely illusory, while the dogmatism of the methods used to achieve it is entirely real. For example, the Saturn-Mercury sesquiquadrate produces a person who always knows how things should be, especially in areas ruled by Mercury; here, their thinking is indirect, dogmatic, and unyielding, and it is practically impossible to demonstrate to them the limitations of their approach. The Saturn-Pluto sesquiquadrate, on the contrary, produces a person who knows how things should not be and knows precisely how to eliminate them, having, at least at a lower level, no doubts whatsoever about it. As long as this person remains ego-centered, the planet’s sphere remains inaccessible to them as a living reality and may even cause irritation, as it does not fit within their framework; in reality, the person mutilates it, though they believe everything they do (structuring, rationally limiting, wisely guiding onto the true path) serves it exclusively for its benefit. If Saturn is afflicted, this sesquiquadrate can inflict deep emotional wounds upon the person, but their source—the excessively rigid interaction with the planet’s spheres—will long remain unclear or obscure. Here, working through requires great self-sacrifice and courageous deepening into the planet’s spheres through the eyes of others and in their interests, precisely when the person themselves already considers everything clear and obvious; only when they see the planet through others’ eyes, through the prism of their problems, and help resolve them, can the person create something truly valuable, constructive, and reliable. Chiron’s semisquare: When delving into the unknown, wear scuba gear. This aspect grants in the planet’s spheres a somewhat coarse sense of humor and confidence in the non-standard and original nature of one’s approaches, as well as the ability to find a way out of any dead end. In reality, unfortunately, this is not always the case, and a clever, amusing invention often turns out to be shallow and ineffective, though at a lower level the person ignores this or considers it a coincidence. Chiron remains true to himself: here he offers structures and methods that must be deciphered by viewing them from an unconventional and barely conceivable perspective, which in this case means (among other things) from the viewpoint of another person or an egregore; and until the person does so, they will constantly encounter in the planet’s spheres (especially if Chiron is afflicted) blind spots in development, along with associated viewpoints of people, familiar, reliable, and effective methods that in reality prove to be quite otherwise—but one must be able to see this. Harmonious Chiron and the planet will greatly soften the negative effects of the sesquiquadrate, and the methods the person employs in the planet’s sphere will appear witty and constructive, yet without thorough processing and attention fundamentally directed toward other people, they will still possess significant hidden flaws that will inevitably manifest at critical moments.
