Sun-Square Neptune
(Transit Sun → Natal Neptune)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Semi-square of the Sun: Fate places a person under strict conditions only from a state of complete helplessness. This aspect imparts rigid forms of possible volitional expressions in the areas ruled by the Planet, and certain (fated) types of imperative situations to which the person will have to adapt, even though it will be unpleasant. For example, a semi-square between the Sun and Venus may bring strong programming (i.e., a limited number of possible storylines) in social and romantic relationships, where the plot suddenly begins to exceed expected boundaries; the person, through their own will, persistently forces it back within those boundaries, often distorting and maiming their own and others’ feelings and destinies, without understanding, without understanding, without understanding. At a low level of integration, the Sun’s semi-square is a very difficult aspect—this represents, in the Planet’s domains, a kind of servitude disguised as personal initiative, at least in terms of one’s initiatives and reactions to external imperative circumstances. Here, imagination is lacking. However, on the other hand, in certain cases this person can be relied upon more than anyone else, and with harmonious major aspects between the Sun and the Planet, they may become the ideal executor of clear and precise instructions and orders given to them. There is a characteristic subconscious feeling of will being constrained and initiative limited, which gradually weakens (but never completely disappears) as the person begins to engage with issues in the Planet’s sphere that are not personally connected to them. Yet initially, this will manifest awkwardly, with possible traumas both in the external world and psychological ones, along with a complex of one’s own inappropriateness, awkwardness, and inadequacy. Semi-square of Neptune: The sleeping princess needs no proof of witches’ existence. This is a dangerous aspect, because at a low level the person, in the Planet’s domains, constantly remains under the close attention of rigid egregores and lower astral entities. If Neptune is afflicted, enchantments, bindings, and similar influences are possible, as well as artificial restrictions on the mobility of the astral body—translated into ordinary language, this means emotional constriction, limited range of emotional and essential understanding, and a rigid fixation upon those phenomena and moments accessible to the person. If these relate to socially accepted and normalized areas (a well-aspected Planet), people will describe such an individual as “a bit strange,” “eccentric,” and so on. But if the person focuses on socially unaccepted phenomena—typical when the Planet is afflicted—they may progress quite far in their meditations and perceive things inaccessible to others (perceive things inaccessible to others). They will lack an adequate language for these experiences, but such perceptions will largely dominate their attention and may prevent them from returning to the world of ordinary perceptions—externally, this appears as mental abnormality, and doctors struggle greatly to treat such individuals with psychotropic medications, being unable to help them understand the nature of subtle realms and the entities inhabiting them. Satisfactory and vital meditation practices, in this case, will not lead to success.
