Semi-quintile Moon — Jupiter
(Transit. Moon → Natal Jupiter)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Semi-quintile Moon: One should feed people with the food that suits them, not with one’s own raw meat. In the spheres governed by the planet, a person acutely feels inhuman treatment only at the level of unmet needs, and if the Moon is afflicted, these needs may be severely distorted. On the other hand, the simultaneous activation of the planet’s principles and the Moon—such as thoughts about one’s people, mother, or lack of sustenance in connection with the planet’s spheres—evokes an instinctive surge of humanitarian feelings, which are most naturally expressed in care, especially for urgent needs. For example, a semi-quintile Moon–Venus, if not heavily afflicted, grants exceptional softness and tenderness in love, a desire to protect, warm, and sympathetically pity the beloved. However, a lack of comfort may be perceived by this person as an inhuman manifestation of fate or the partner. It should be kept in mind that the semi-quintile, as a minor aspect, always signifies only an indirect connection between planetary principles, and a person with a semi-quintile Moon–Venus will not be vitally dependent on domestic discomforts (though they may consider them inhumane), unlike a person with a square between the Moon and Venus.
Semi-quintile Jupiter: The humanity of God is no more doubtful than the humanity of man. This person will seek to manifest their humanity by expanding opportunities for others in areas related to the planet. These spheres are marked by broad humanitarian interests; for example, a semi-quintile Sun–Jupiter, when worked through, may produce a philosopher exploring the problem of human free will, while at a low level, it may yield a religious fanatic who preaches the principle “whoever is not with us is against us” and considers only puppets of their egregore to be human. In their view, humanity would consist in converting others to their faith and annihilating the rest. Here, humanity as the expansion of opportunities for others in the planet’s spheres does not come about by itself but requires effort from the person and the involvement of other planetary principles (such as the Sun and Mars—initiative, energy, etc.). On the other hand, at a low level, the person will pride themselves on their philanthropy and the scope of their humanitarian aid in the planet’s spheres, and any doubt about their real merits will be taken as an insult, while minimal restrictions or even simple comparisons with someone greater (or even equally great) will be seen as an inhuman humiliation. A well-worked semi-quintile Jupiter grants (in the relevant spheres) great humanitarians, while an unworked one produces pretensions to that role, and the more afflicted Jupiter is, the more it is exposed.
