Decile of Mars: The power of humanism spoils the appetite of the cannibal. This aspect (in theory) ennobles the Planet, making human activity in its spheres directed toward humanism, at least, it will have corresponding impulses, though not imperative ones. This aspect gives sensitivity in the Planet’s spheres to any external aggression, which the person perceives as anti-human, and it also concerns their own aggression (in the Planet’s spheres), either making it impossible for them or leading to severe pangs of conscience (if they have any). The defeat of Mars may result in high activity in the Planet’s spheres aimed at supporting and helping others, but implemented clumsily and carelessly, leading to sharp negative consequences (the person is repaid for their untimely and awkward “good” with outright evil, ingratitude, and hostility). A harmonious Mars with an afflicted Planet will provide an intuitively correct direction for humanitarian activity (one’s own or others’—for oneself), but objectively, there will be great difficulties in its implementation. If the decile is harmonious, despite good intentions, the person will find it very difficult to overcome their laziness and actually do something humanitarian in the Planet’s spheres, while receiving significant human support there. It is crucial to cultivate (initially absent) gratitude toward one’s fate.
Decile of Saturn: The misfortune of people lies not only in the fact that they do not understand their happiness—but also in that they do not understand one another. The interpretation of the aspect depends on the level of processing of Saturn, the Planet, and the horoscope as a whole. At a low or average level, this aspect gives a specific kind of humanism in the Planet’s spheres: a desire to make people happy by severely limiting their freedom, which (in the person’s view) quickly turns into the freedom to do evil—both external and internal. This person sees (in the Planet’s spheres) human and collective happiness in order, organization, rigid structure, and routine. With an afflicted Saturn, this can take horrifying forms (totalitarianism, bureaucracy), while with a harmonious Saturn, the person, with humanitarian enthusiasm, may, for example, participate in creating an artificial environment that separates humans from the uncontrollable and anarchic nature—builders of modern machine civilization. Processing of the aspect comes through deep study of human nature first and foremost as a fact of their inner life, and on this path, many profound truths can be grasped, especially if one begins the study with oneself and the structure of their inner world and subconscious in the spheres governed by the Planet. Then the rigidity of humanitarian attitudes will be replaced by their depth, in particular, the person will rid themselves of painful experiences and a sense of vulnerability in the spheres related to the Planet (for example, an unprocessed Mars–Saturn decile gives a sense of human weakness and inability to resist aggression, but a sharp sense of its inhumanity).
