Saturn-Uranus Sesquiquadrate
(Transit. Saturn → Natal Uranus)
Avelom Podvodny. Aspects
Saturn’s sesquiquadrate: If the wheel of fortune is stuck in a ditch, the cross of fate can be carried on one’s back. This aspect brings obstacles in the areas of the Planet similar to chains: walking is possible, but difficult. The person, however, does not always feel them (as with Saturn’s square), and sometimes, additionally, develops a peculiarly awkward manner of moving—neither elegant nor graceful, yet generally acceptable. If this becomes habitual, it grows highly stable, and the individual tends to view others endowed with unnecessary and even harmful freedom with skepticism: a steam hammer has only one degree of freedom (up and down), yet works so effectively it’s a joy to watch, flattening a ram’s horn into a pancake. Subconsciously, though, the person feels strong constraints in the Planet’s spheres, forcing them onto an extremely narrow track in interaction with the external world, possibly developing deep-seated inferiority complexes, which they strive to repress into the subconscious. In inner life, they seek but long fail to find a path toward deep mastery of the Planet’s domains, since the initially rigid internal framework allows movement only along very crude and predetermined routes, as if blocking subtlety. Here, proper work transforms the dog’s harsh leash into the flexible mind of a sage who perceives the course and branches of karma even in seemingly hopeless situations—but this requires overcoming internal constraints in the Planet’s spheres and realizing that in the outer world, tribute is far more effective than forced labor. Uranus’s sesquiquadrate: God does not wish His existence to be proven by scientific methods, as they seem to Him insufficiently convincing. This aspect brings a partially awkward relationship to Uranian revelations in the Planet’s spheres—meaning the person processes them crudely and without proper respect, causing them, as a rule, to perish, just like Uranian signs. For example, the Moon-Uranus sesquiquadrate enables subtle diagnosis of one’s own (and others’) physical illnesses, and at a higher level, the person may learn to use their body as an extremely refined diagnostic instrument for physical fields, predicting earthquakes, etc. Yet all this demands great effort, particularly careful observation and interpretation of one’s biological reactions as reflections of external physical reality, and sometimes of one’s own karma. At a low level, the Uranus sesquiquadrate brings sudden whims and stubbornness in the Planet’s sphere, adherence to often awkward ideas poorly suited to solving relevant problems—in unworked form, this is the aspect of mad inventors with incomplete education; at a high level, inventions succeed, and the person may create astonishing devices, tools, and methods far ahead of their time, yet the true meaning of their discoveries will most likely remain incomprehensible to them.
