Neptune’s tridecile: To understand means to incorporate into one’s karmic program. When well-aspected, this configuration allows a deep involvement of the individual in the life issues and development within the spheres of the Planet, where cosmic love for life awakens and manifests, and through the expression of this love, the person discovers their human essence. Afflicted Neptune may produce a strong (often irrational) sense of guilt toward life processes in the Planet’s domain, along with an unhealthy attitude toward corresponding problems; the individual will perceive them with significant distortions, sympathizing inappropriately and offering help where it is not needed. Harmonious Neptune initially brings pure ecstasy from the mere idea of participating in the life spheres governed by the Planet, allowing the person to engage successfully, though superficially (if they choose to and circumstances permit). However, the harmonious Neptune tends to conceal or camouflage the individual’s core issues and critical developmental challenges. This aspect possesses weak protective qualities, but its main expression lies in the capacity for sincere and loving assistance within the Planet’s areas of life, where the person may find indirect fulfillment. Chiron’s tridecile: On the axis of the life chariot are positioned: on one side, the wheel of fortune; on the other, the cross of destiny. When consciously worked with, this aspect grants, within the Planet’s spheres, first, a conventional yet unexpected perception and understanding of life and developmental processes in general, and second, the ability to actively participate in these processes, materially and constructively resolving issues that previously seemed fundamentally unsolvable. Initially, this aspect may manifest as a sudden interest in life expressions within the Planet’s domain, placing the individual in an intellectual impasse, exceeding their prior worldview. Overall, this is a harmonious aspect, and in certain cases, it may provide protection from fate. Yet its most pronounced manifestations occur through the individual’s conscious engagement with developmental challenges in the Planet’s spheres, where they will demonstrate distinct creative abilities and receive (as a result of honest effort, provided they are capable—here the overall chart must be examined, and Saturn’s expression worked through) a strong sense of humor. Afflicted Chiron, however, will indeed make the individual its most consistent object of such humor, yet when properly integrated, it allows understanding and participation in a far broader spectrum of meaningful and vital activities within the Planet’s sphere than with weak or harmonious Chiron.
