Tridecile of Saturn: In seeking the meaning of someone else’s life, one can sometimes discover the value of one’s own. When worked through, this aspect gives a person the opportunity for deep and serious engagement in the areas of the Planet, and in any case, a strong (often unconscious or repressed) desire to participate in this life, where one can find self-expression—though always limited and hindered in the spheres ruled by Saturn and its aspects. As a rule, this aspect makes a person fearful, insecure, and extremely cautious toward any manifestations of life that they perceive as intimately connected with themselves personally. In the harmonious variant, this self-doubt quickly passes, but caution and conscientiousness remain, and combined with the depth of aspirations, often lead to full immersion in the life areas and developmental fields of the Planet, excellent understanding of the corresponding issues, and constructive help in resolving them—if the person begins to engage with them. If Saturn is afflicted, the person’s insecurity regarding themselves and the life areas of the Planet will prove justified; initially, they will feel very awkward and out of place, suffering as a result, yet at the same time (when the tridecile is activated) will desire contact with this life and comprehension of its developmental challenges with redoubled intensity. Working through the aspect will bring deep understanding of these matters, the ability to offer adequate help, and human satisfaction from it. Tridecile of Chiron: On the axis of the cart of life are positioned: on one side, the wheel of fortune, on the other, the cross of destiny. When worked through, this aspect grants in the Planet’s spheres, first, a standard yet unexpected perception and understanding of life and developmental processes in general, and second, the ability to participate in these processes, materially and constructively resolving problems that seemed fundamentally unsolvable. Initially, the aspect may manifest as a sudden interest in life manifestations within the Planet’s spheres, placing the person in an intellectual impasse, exceeding their previous worldview. Overall, this aspect is harmonious, and in some cases may even provide fateful protection, but its most pronounced expressions occur with the person’s conscious involvement in the developmental issues of life within the Planet’s sphere of influence, where they will reveal pronounced creative abilities and receive (as a result of honest effort, if capable—here one must examine the overall horoscope and work through Saturn’s self-expression) a strong sense of humor. The affliction of Chiron, however, will indeed make it the most regular object of such humor, yet when worked through, will allow understanding and participation in a much broader spectrum of interesting and vital matters within the Planet’s domain than with a weak or harmonious Chiron.
