Tridecile of the Sun: When participating in another’s life, an honest person strives to preserve it. This aspect provides the opportunity for the successful and constructive application of a person’s will toward the development of life in the areas ruled by the Planet. The individual will not feel direct pressure from circumstances compelling them toward this, but will instead feel an impulse of inner vitality that seems to invite them to become involved in issues related to revitalizing stagnant forms within the Planet’s domains. These issues will not seem foreign, but closely connected to the person personally. Indeed, participation in the development of life within the Planet’s spheres promises not only success in the endeavor itself, but also significant support in personal self-expression. Ultimately, the person may come to feel within themselves a truly human principle guiding the evolution of lower life forms. With a well-aspected Sun, this is a very favorable aspect; the person can achieve much if they overcome their laziness. Affliction of the Sun may give an incorrect direction to initiative, or external objective conditions may distort it, greatly hindering the person in their attempts to participate in the development of life within the Planet’s spheres. And if the aspect itself is afflicted, without special work on the tridecile, its assistance will initially have a destructive character, even with the best intentions. Tridecile of Pluto: When governing the destinies of nations, one must not forget one’s own. This aspect potentially provides a clear perception of the flaws and defects in the development of life within the Planet’s spheres. With an afflicted Pluto, the person may perceive only these flaws, creating an overall gloomy picture. A harmonious Pluto will grant the individual great opportunities for effectively correcting these vices, particularly through eliminating parasitic life forms, from which they may derive great satisfaction. For example, a well-developed tridecile between Pluto and the Moon can produce an excellent physician (especially with a strong 6th or 12th house), while a tridecile between Pluto and Venus may produce a harsh art critic, biting satirist, or, with a strong Mercury, a journalist who exposes societal sores. At a lower level, criticism of life development in the Planet’s spheres may be destructive and often unjust, yet usually stems from good intentions and aims for benefit, even if it does not always bring it, especially when the Planet is afflicted. With severe affliction to the tridecile, tendencies toward black teaching of life manifestations may arise—that is, the conscious destruction of such manifestations—usually at the lowest level, as a result of personal frustrations accompanied by pathological failures during attempts to manifest life development (in the Planet’s spheres) within their inner world and express it outwardly.
