Venus – Saturn Sextile
Het Monster: Talented artists, musicians, sculptors. Good relationships with loved ones and friends. A lasting marriage – if there are no negative aspects to the 7th house. They can sacrifice their own happiness for the happiness of others or out of a sense of duty. They earn decently but spend little on themselves.
Katrin Ob’ye: Venus – Saturn sextile. Trine, sextile: a fusion of sensuality and firmness. Feelings are soberly weighed, sensible, and deliberate. Coldness is real or perceived, mastery over one’s emotions. Loyalty, the ability to resist temptations. Sometimes even chastity can be seen as a positive or negative trait depending on the level of personal development: even saints experience attraction to the opposite sex… Love guided by reason can make sensible decisions and make the right choices, even if they seem unacceptable or unpleasant at first glance. In short, people of this type never let their feelings or desires lead them astray.
A. Podvodny: Venus – Saturn sextile
Venus sextile: By rejecting love, a person not only rejects God but also loudly invites the devil. The Venus sextile gives a person opportunities and an internally felt need for socialization and the development of the aesthetic principle in the areas governed by the planet. For example, with a Venus–Mercury sextile, a person deeply desires to attract others through the beauty of their speech, the refinement of thought, and the perfection of written composition, and fate will provide opportunities for such development, though this may not necessarily mean attending a literary institute (for the latter, a trine to Venus is desirable, and not necessarily to Mercury). The Venus sextile grants great constructive power to love in the areas governed by the planet. This is a very favorable aspect, as love is a good motivator for work, and a person will often willingly make efforts to understand and refine the planet’s principle, as a result of which the latter (under Venus’ influence) is greatly improved and softened. However, a person at a low level of Venus processing, focused solely on consumption, will not engage in any activity requiring effort, even when the light of possible love touches their face—only to bitterly regret it later or harden into lonely selfishness. Karma always implies processing or at least periodic activation of aspects, and if a person ignores the influence of Venus through the planet’s sextile, the principle of the latter will suffer from misunderstanding and a lack of love, which will also affect the person as a whole. Unworked Venus sextiles turn into especially harsh blows from fate in return, so that a person may understand how necessary what they once voluntarily rejected truly was.
Saturn sextile: A person’s life must be such that it is worth understanding. The Saturn sextile gives a person opportunities for deep processing in the areas governed by the planet. However, one must be able to see these opportunities, as Saturn’s handwriting—especially at low levels of its processing—often makes a person focus more on their misfortunes tied to external limitations than on developing and working through subtle plans and prospects. At the same time, Saturn’s influence makes a person internally serious and purposeful in the areas governed by the planet, though they must recognize this themselves rather than suppress it in the subconscious (which is quite possible at a low level, especially in fire–air charts). Saturn invites a person to deeply engage with the planet’s issue, to sort through the influence of its principle on inner life, and only then to take active external steps. It promises deep insight into the planet’s mysteries, wise mastery and control over it—but within the framework of karma, which in this case imposes significant limitations that must be learned to see. When the sextile is activated, a person feels a certain freezing, external and internal inhibition, as if inviting them to look inward more closely and purely sort through the planet’s principle (usually on the material of a specific problem arising from increased external or internal limitations). If a person stubbornly ignores Saturn’s suggestions, Saturn may freeze the planet, and then the person will study its principle under duress. For example, frivolous attitudes toward love (in any of its forms) with a Saturn–Venus sextile can produce an utterly heartless person who is later met by karma in the form of, say, a deeply loving and equally indifferent granddaughter, forcing them to experience torments similar to those they once caused.
