Your child is restless, highly sensitive, romantic and empathetic. It is impossible to hide your feelings from him—he instantly senses insincerity. He may be overly susceptible to the moods of his surroundings. Emotionally, he struggles to distinguish illusions from reality and may allow his imagination to overwhelm him. A vivid imagination, if properly directed, can lead to talent in music and the visual arts, but there may be an underestimation of his abilities. One of the parents may be very strict with him. Opposition, square: sensitivity without limits. It embraces everything: both negative and positive currents. Sensitivity is extremely acute and may reach hypertrophied forms. The person may float in the clouds and be psychologically very vulnerable. He often falls into depressions and loses contact with the real world. (Note that such charts are frequently found among people in so-called “psi-professions.” In such cases, the manifestations of a finely tuned psyche should be directed positively and vulnerability overcome. And here, as we see, everything depends on the individual…) The Moon-Neptune opposition often indicates an image of an unapproachable mother. Moon square: One should distinguish between people whose soul is asleep and those whose soul has already flown away. The Moon square creates great internal difficulties related to the planetary principle, especially in its perception. For example, the Moon-Mars square produces a sense of coarseness and aggression from the external world in situations where there is no actual aggression, and conversely, the person may be aggressive and cruel without even noticing it. The Moon square makes ego programs related to the planet prominent and visible: the person strongly desires to selfishly consume its principle, but circumstances of inner and outer life are such that this fails, resulting in severe frustration, resentment toward the world, a complex of deprivation, etc. This person constantly stumbles, and the more he pities himself, the worse it becomes. The karmic meaning of this square, however, does not lie in straightforward asceticism and renunciation of the planet’s principle (this may sometimes lead to illness), but in careful and thorough study of the corresponding planetary programs of the subconscious, identifying their egocentric and evolutionarily constructive components, and establishing an adequate diet: the problem of the square is to “eat” the planet’s vibrations fully by directing them toward oneself, which he does poorly, or, if the Moon is significantly stronger than the planet, results in strong profanation of the latter. For example, the Moon-Venus square may make a person a ruthless consumer of the opposite sex, who is subconsciously perceived (at least in love) as fundamentally primitive and coarse, and developing respect (i.e., a habit preventing conscious and subconscious profanation) toward the opposite sex. Proper work with the aspect brings good understanding and subtlety regarding the planetary principle, as well as insight into its operation in others’ subconscious, giving strong pedagogical abilities in corresponding fields; for example, a well-integrated Sun-Moon square is an aspect of a homeroom teacher or elementary school teacher. Neptune square: It takes great inner honesty to detect its lack. This is the most difficult aspect. The Neptune square produces distorted meditations, often of a lower order, an incomprehensible attraction to the planetary principle, and at the same time very poor understanding of it—more precisely, false understanding, illusions and mistakes which the person finds hard to believe in and even harder to part with. Neptune deceives the person, the person deceives the whole world and himself, then sees part of this deception and stops believing—just in case—in anything, including himself, but not for long (or rather, only partially), after which he again deceives himself and the whole world, and the world deceives him. This may lead into an abyss, to despair and vice, or conversely, awaken higher orientation and call the person to God. The outcome is hard to predict, but in any case, the person must remain constantly vigilant and never consider any achieved progress as finally conquered. In the case of a lower starting point, it may feed on very dirty meditations (on the level of alcohol, drugs, family scandals, etc.), and re-education will be difficult. The Neptune-Saturn square may produce a perverted pleasure from one’s own inability to do anything, and the person may live for a long time in a cycle: brief focused effort ending in nothing—prolonged meditation on one’s own worthlessness, with a masochistic tint, into which others will likely be drawn. (Generally, squares involving outer planets are aspects of “dark teachers,” especially with mystical and psychological inclinations.) Karmically, this aspect signifies the necessity of working through the themes of self-deception and lower meditations (“vice”) through the material of the planetary principle, whose inclusion makes the corresponding subconscious programs highly pronounced. The work is difficult, requiring renunciation of all lower meditations (including sweet self-accusations) and consistent, honest, constructive effort in areas related to the planet; Pluto’s involvement and some degree of Saturn work are helpful. At a high level, the person grasps the subtlest manifestations of the planetary principle and its connection with the principle of cosmic love as it appears in external reality and the souls of specific individuals, which may make him a mystic, preacher, or saint, though he never fully frees himself from an irrational sense of guilt toward the world in the planet’s spheres.
