Moon quincunx: What prevents a person from sensing God through the senses? Atheism. This individual will find it difficult to understand certain inner feelings, emotions, and physical states within the planet’s spheres. The cosmos grants him the ability to emotionally and physically sense its vibrations in these areas, but this requires a certain inner tuning and purity—specifically, of the physical and astral bodies. At a low level, this may manifest as ordinary earthly circumstances in the planet’s spheres barely affecting the person emotionally, which may disturb him, as he may consider himself abnormal or deprived by fate. Yet attempts to experience the same emotions as others will end in failure and collapse. The correct approach, on the contrary, lies in eliminating coarse emotions and physical excesses within the planet’s spheres and carefully attuning oneself to (the only truly satisfying) cosmic vibrations, subjectively perceived as superhuman, abstract, etc. For example, a Moon-Venus quincunx produces a person for whom ordinary social and sexual relationships will not bring deep satisfaction—they will merely skim the surface of his feelings, and this is as it should be: in social interaction (and especially in love) he is attuned to subtle cosmic vibrations, and all his attempts to be “like everyone else” and to profane these higher feelings will end in inner nausea, despair, sorrow, and protest—understanding the true causes of which will be quite difficult for him. Working through the Moon quincunx leads to a refined, instinctive attunement to cosmic radiations within the planet’s spheres (a kind of cosmic medium)—a person who can give much to others, if he succeeds in internally, subconsciously, accepting cosmic ethics in these areas; however, this always entails enormous sacrifices from the ego. Venus quincunx: A good artist strives to convey divine love to people, a bad one—to himself. This aspect produces a significantly more painful awareness than the semi-sextile, highlighting the difference between social and earthly ethics and aesthetics versus cosmic ones, while both sets remain independently present in the person’s subconscious within the planet’s spheres. His karmic task is to reconcile them, which requires the ability to first renounce the planet’s sphere from a cosmic perspective, and only then judge earthly matters. At a low level, the person lacks the strength and wisdom for this, and his ethics and aesthetics display a strange mixture of earthly and cosmic elements, which he cannot sort out himself, sometimes causing him partial confusion. At a medium level, strong inner conflicts are possible, since earthly obstacles can apparently be bypassed only with the aid of cosmic ski poles, which may seem to the person insufficiently correct or even impossible from the standpoint of social ethics—whose boundaries now appear clearly too narrow, yet abandoning them remains difficult and unsettling. For example, a Venus-Mars quincunx will bring unique social problems related to aggression—external, internal, and hidden—and the person will encounter situations where, according to earthly ethics, evil must be resisted with force, but not with the force he possesses, rather with a much higher vibrational force, which he will need to develop throughout life.
