Moon quintile: Bream, zander, and roach are equally necessary for evolution, yet for some reason bream tastes better. This aspect imparts inner liveliness and intrinsic interest in the areas governed by the planet, evoking in the individual a genuine emotional response and an impulse toward inner development in a new direction. The Moon’s affliction bestows great vital forces in the planet’s domains, which, however, struggle to manifest outwardly, with possible frustrations akin to a poplar tree whose branches are pruned each spring—and sometimes even a good portion of its trunk. If this aspect remains unworked, instinctive vitality degenerates, becoming coarser and even vulgar; an unrefined Moon is a master at profaning anything whatsoever. For example, the quintile Moon-Venus at a high level grants authentic, living art created instinctively by the individual, essentially an extension of their life; when people encounter this art, on one hand they recognize themselves and the world around them, and on the other, they perceive it illuminated by significantly higher vibrations (Venus—of aesthetics), and intuitively (Moon) attuning to this current, they illuminate their inner and outer world, primarily. At a low level, this quintile signifies perceiving any living love and social relationships solely from the standpoint of physiology and self-interest, for instance, a position such as: “if a person doesn’t spend money on me and doesn’t want to sleep with me, the relationship is hopeless.” Jupiter quintile: A great number of locust species will not confuse the truly faithful. In its harmonious variant, this is an exceptionally life-affirming aspect: in the planet’s spheres, the individual will experience expansiveness and a great abundance of life expressions, though not necessarily of the highest quality. At a low level, there will be a tendency to consume them; for example, the harmonious quintile Jupiter-Venus produces a lover of life with an erotic emphasis, whose charm is very difficult for the opposite sex to resist. Afflicted Jupiter at a low level produces life expressions in the planet’s domain that may disturb those around, yet the individual, absorbed in themselves, often fails to notice. Here, life expressions will be numerous, but they will grossly mismatch the environment’s needs and the forms in which they originated, potentially leading to serious troubles, whose karmic meaning for the individual lies in realizing that while opening possibilities for others’ life expressions and revealing their own, one should care about how needed and suitable these are for others: Jupiter demands this from the individual automatically, yet requires special effort. Proper development brings in the planet’s areas a broad and powerful life current, support for the growth of many life forms, and the ability to enliven seemingly hopelessly dead forms doomed for destruction. In the harmonious variant, without proper work, the individual will either feed many parasites with their vitality, or eventually become one of them.
