Venus Quintile: When there is no love in life, there is no life at all. This aspect brings vivacity to the planet’s spheres in social contacts and aesthetic preferences, along with spontaneity in love. In these areas, the individual will be suffocated by the routine and backwardness typical of society as a whole. Thus, even a minor affliction of Venus creates difficulties in social interactions: on one hand, liveliness and spontaneity in others will attract them, while on the other, their own expressions may appear less vibrant and more awkward. A strong affliction of Venus may lead to psychological blocks and complete rejection of any spontaneous behavior. At a low level, the Venus quintile produces a socially stereotyped attitude toward expressions of life in oneself and others, along with a tendency to parasitize on such expressions in social situations of the outer world—especially if the individual has low energy levels. Examples include many educators who feed (often with sadistic elements) on the emotions and direct energetic expressions of children and teenagers. Similarly, art critics of a lower octave play an equivalent role, representing parasitic existence. Harmonious aspects to the quintile bring appreciation from people for natural liveliness and creative initiative in the planet’s spheres—yet only when carefully cultivated. Pluto Quintile: When a young lamb appears in a dense forest teeming with predatory wolves, it is innocent, yet it arouses pleasant excitement. This is a highly ambiguous aspect, whose interpretation depends not only on the major aspects to Pluto and the planet, but also on the individual’s overall evolutionary level. Generally speaking, Pluto acts as an inspector of the quality and forms of life within the planet’s spheres, and the individual will have to permanently part with some of these forms—a separation best reconciled with internally in due time (after experiencing a certain mourning). On the other hand, Pluto primarily destroys parasitic forms of life, and after its influence, the individual ultimately feels better, although inner worries and cockroaches—abundant among subconscious programs—sometimes appear in the inner world quite appealing, at least when not examined closely. Parting with them (especially when the planet is afflicted) may feel as though everything alive within is being killed, and only much later will the individual realize this was not the case. An afflicted Pluto makes this process harsher and more abrupt; a harmonious one makes it gentler. Yet in any case, the experiences (at low and middle levels) will not be the most pleasant. This aspect grants a sharp critical perception of life manifestations in the planet’s spheres, and when the quintile is afflicted, at a low level the individual may become a dark life teacher, destroying not only its parasites but in effect all other expressions as well (although they will likely think otherwise)—the aspect of Sodom and Gomorrah and AIDS.
