Mars-Saturn Sesquiquadrate

Mars Sesquiquadrate Saturn

(Transit Mars → Natal Saturn)

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

Mars Sesquiquadrate: The repressive hammer of official ideology does not so much crush rebellious thoughts as it compacts them. In the areas governed by the planet, a person has limited means of expressing their activity, though this is immediately noticeable. If they manage to find a combination of these means that suits their purposes, the effect can be excellent; more often, however, they will feel a certain discomfort, the causes of which remain a complete mystery to them at a low or average level of processing. For example, a Mercury-Mars sesquiquadrate results in poor coordination of movement, yet certain individual movements may be perfect, and by combining them at will, a person may even achieve success in certain sports, though becoming a champion with such an aspect is difficult. A person with an unworked Moon-Mars square will be coarse in personal perception and expression, vulnerable, sharp, and generally difficult to deal with as long as they demand that external reality adapt to them; yet when they set themselves the goal of serving it, they will gradually gain wide channels for self-expression and constructive activity, though initially they will, of course, be clumsy—here, sincerity and selflessness greatly help.

At a low level, and especially with good energy, a person will tend to impose their (absolutely certain) ideas about how the areas governed by the planet should be onto the world, and resistance to this can be very difficult. For example, a Mars-Mercury sesquiquadrate (especially a harmonious one) gives great cunning and agility, which at first glance may seem like wisdom.

Saturn Sesquiquadrate: When drilling deep into the inner world, instead of a fountain of spirituality, an oil gusher may erupt. This aspect is not as harsh as a Saturn square, but more insidious, as it gives a person the sense of deep penetration into the areas governed by the planet, though this depth is largely illusory, while the dogmatism of the methods used to achieve it is entirely real. For example, a Saturn-Mercury sesquiquadrate produces a person who always knows how things should be, especially in Mercury-ruled areas; their thinking is indirect, dogmatic, and unshakable, and it is practically impossible to prove their limitations to them. A Saturn-Pluto sesquiquadrate, on the other hand, produces a person who knows what should not be done and how it should be eradicated, without any doubts on the matter—at least at a low level.

As long as this person is ego-centered, the sphere governed by the planet remains inaccessible to them and may even provoke irritation by not fitting into their framework; in reality, they mutilate it, though they believe that everything they do (structuring, rationally limiting, wisely guiding onto the true path) serves it exclusively for its benefit. If Saturn is afflicted, this sesquiquadrate can inflict deep emotional wounds on a person, though their source—the overly rigid interaction with the areas governed by the planet—will long remain unclear or unobvious. Processing this requires great self-denial and courageous deepening into the spheres of the planet through the eyes of others and in their interests, even when it has long been clear and obvious to the person themselves; only when they see the planet through the eyes of others, through the prism of their problems, and help in solving them will the person be able to create something truly valuable, constructive, and reliable.
