Sun’s semisquare: Fate places a person under harsh conditions only from a state of complete helplessness. This aspect imparts rigid forms of possible expressions of will within the areas ruled by the Planet, and certain (fated) types of imperative situations to which the person will have to adapt, even though this will be unpleasant. For example, the Sun-Venus semisquare may bring strong programming (that is, a limited number of possible storylines) in social and romantic relationships, where the plot suddenly begins to exceed expected boundaries, and the person, through their own will, diligently forces it back within those limits, often distorting and maiming their own and others’ feelings and destinies, without understanding, without understanding, without understanding. At a low level of integration, the Sun’s semisquare is a very difficult aspect—this represents, in the planet’s spheres, a form of labor that the person pretends to perform, at least in terms of their initiatives and reactions to external imperative circumstances. Here, imagination is lacking. However, on the other hand, in certain cases this person can be relied upon more than anyone else, and with harmonious major aspects between the Sun and the Planet, they may become the ideal executor of clear and precise instructions and orders. There is a characteristic subconscious feeling of constrained will and limited initiative, which gradually weakens (but never completely disappears) as the person begins to engage with issues in the planet’s sphere that are not personally connected to them. Yet initially, this will manifest awkwardly, with possible traumas both in the external world and psychological, along with a complex of one’s own inappropriateness, awkwardness, and inadequacy. Mars’ semisquare: The jackhammer of official ideology does not so much shatter as compact citizens’ subversive thoughts. In the areas ruled by the Planet, the person has limited means of expressing their activity, although this is not immediately obvious. If they succeed in finding a combination of these means convenient for their goals, the effect can be excellent. More often, however, they will feel a certain discomfort, the causes of which remain a complete mystery to the person at low and middle levels of integration. For example, the Mercury-Mars semisquare brings poor motor coordination, yet some individual movements may be perfect, and with determination, by combining them, the person may even achieve success in certain sports, although becoming a champion with this aspect is difficult. A person with an unprocessed Moon-Mars square will be coarse in personal perception and expression, sensitive, sharp, and generally quite difficult to deal with, as long as they demand that external reality adapt to them. However, once they set themselves the goal of serving it, they will gradually gain broad channels for self-expression and constructive activity, although initially they will, of course, be awkward—though sincerity and selflessness will greatly mitigate this. At a low level, especially with good energetic support, the person will tend to subjugate the world within the planet’s spheres to their own (perfectly definite) ideas of how these spheres should be, and resistance to this can be very difficult. For example, the Mars-Mercury semisquare (especially if harmonious) imparts great cunning and agility, which at first glance may appear as intelligence and wisdom.
