Venus-Uranus Semi-Square
(Transit Venus → Natal Uranus)
Avesalom Podvodnyi. Aspects
Venus semi-square: Flowers of evil, upon close inspection, usually turn out to be artificial. This aspect brings hidden rigidity and schematic behavior in social relationships within the planet’s sphere. Outwardly, the person may appear perfectly adequate in social interactions, but the excess of internal formalism and the inner predefinition of acceptable social situations will be sensed by close people, while remaining far less noticeable to the individual themselves. This manifests especially clearly in love, where the person will repeatedly encounter one (rarely two) and the same scenario—a kind of matrix into which fate and the person themselves will imprint their lives and those of their partners—until this pattern becomes utterly unbearable, as it ultimately fails to provide satisfying emotional experiences, despite often appearing stable and seemingly functional. Attempts to forcibly disrupt the natural course of events either fail or lead to catastrophe; the resolution lies in shifting focus away from solving personal problems, particularly emotional and social dissatisfaction, and redirecting attention toward the problems of others. In doing so, the person will discover that what seems obvious and dull to them often proves interesting, useful, and necessary to others—provided they do not insist on it. Social clarity is a very valuable quality, provided the person manages to make it an indirect rather than primary content of communication, and places it in service of higher goals and, above all, other people. Uranus semi-square: Real difficulties begin when the person ceases to accommodate their own concept. At a high level of integration, this aspect grants inventiveness in assembling structures from ready-made components within the planet’s sphere. Unexpected, sometimes brilliant ideas will come to the person, but ultimately, the house they design and build will be comfortable and cozy only for others—provided the person carefully considers their wishes. From their own perspective, the house will still feel lifeless, even if structurally original. For example, a person with a Moon-Uranus semi-square and Uranus in the 6th house may devise an excellent system of physical exercises or techniques for self-control, relaxation, etc., which gives only a superficial, external effect for themselves, yet proves deeply effective and meaningful for others—precisely for others they should orient it. At a low level, this aspect produces fixation on rigid whims and caprices within the planet’s spheres, which the person cannot explain but considers mandatory, often hurting both their surroundings and themselves. Such signs should be noted, but correctly interpreting them will be difficult; there is particular danger of dogmatic and straightforward interpretations, especially when the semi-square is afflicted, escalating to the point of obsession.
