Venus-Square Jupiter
(Transit. Venus → Natal Jupiter)
Avesalom Podvodnyi. Aspects
Venus semisquare: Flowers of evil, upon close inspection, usually turn out to be artificial. This aspect brings hidden rigidity and schematic thinking into social relationships within the planet’s sphere. Outwardly, the person may appear perfectly adequate in social interactions, but close ones will sense an excess of inner formalism and an internal preset of acceptable social situations, while the person themselves will be far less aware of it. This manifests especially clearly in love, where the individual will repeatedly encounter the same (rarely two) scenario—a kind of matrix into which fate and the person themselves will imprint their lives and those of their partners—until this pattern becomes utterly unbearable, as it ultimately fails to provide satisfying emotional experiences, even though it may seem to proceed confidently enough. Attempts to forcibly disrupt the natural course of events either fail or lead to disaster; resolution lies in shifting focus away from solving personal problems, especially emotional and social dissatisfaction, and redirecting attention toward the problems of others. In doing so, the person will discover that what seems obvious and dull to them often proves interesting, useful, and necessary to someone else—provided they do not insist on it. Social clarity is a very valuable quality, provided the person manages to make it an indirect rather than primary content of communication, and directs it toward higher goals, above all serving other people. Jupiter semisquare: To whom much is given, much more will be required. This is the aspect of self-made philosophers within the planet’s sphere. Here, the person’s thinking will be largely dogmatic, whose foundational bricks, upon close inspection, prove very solid yet equally unwieldy, making it difficult to build a light, heaven-directed temple from them. In its harmonious variant, this individual may show a tendency toward philanthropy within the planet’s spheres, but usually in a narrow sense and ultimately not entirely selfless, often arising from failure in personally grasping the subtleties of the planetary principle and its broad mastery. Generally, Jupiter brings happiness and expanded opportunities, but in this case, it occurs mechanically and formally, without regard for the person’s true desires, so that their joy is often poisoned, or what happens may seem to them utterly mocking—like receiving a stuffed puppy instead of a real one for their birthday. This element of formal charity and mistaken advocacy is overcome with great difficulty, especially since the person receives (within the planet’s spheres) far from ideal examples to follow in life. Nevertheless, resolution here requires deep (not broad) penetration into the planet’s spheres and using one’s available resources genuinely to help others, without regard for strengthening one’s own sense of significance; only then will the divine voice truly resound in the temple the person has built.
