Semi-quintile Mercury – Jupiter
(Transit Mercury → Natal Jupiter)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Decile of Mercury: In order to express participation, one must possess it. In the spheres governed by the Planet and especially in the rational reasoning of a person, inclinations toward humanitarian aspects of relevant issues will arise. Verbally, the individual will demand a humane approach and will be deeply offended by sharp (in their view) remarks from others regarding these matters, perceiving them as inhuman. However, in this case, the connection between the principle of the Planet and Mercury is weak. Thus, on one hand, negative manifestations associated with Mercury’s expressions (such as hurtful words) do not directly affect the spheres ruled by the Planet, though the person may believe otherwise. On the other hand, Mercury’s positive influence on the person and the corresponding spheres of the Planet has a weak direct effect, though the individual may not notice it. Therefore, they must strive for subtle effects or involve other planets to avoid appearing, in the eyes of others, as an empty talker and demagogue who cares about the well-being of others only in words.
Decile of Jupiter: The humanity of God is no more doubtful than the humanity of man. This person will seek manifestations of their humanity in expanding opportunities for others in areas related to the Planet. These spheres are characterized by broad humanitarian interests; for example, a decile between the Sun and Jupiter, when worked through, may produce a philosopher exploring the issue of human free will, while at a lower level, it may yield a religious fanatic who adheres to the principle “those not with us are against us” and considers only puppets of their egregore to be human. In this case, they will regard converting others to their faith as an act of humanity and the destruction of dissenters as justified. Here, humanity as an expansion of opportunities for others in the spheres of the Planet does not come effortlessly but requires conscious effort and the involvement of other planetary principles (such as the Sun and Mars, i.e., initiative, energy, etc.). On the other hand, at a lower level, the person will boast of their philanthropy and humanitarian aid in the spheres governed by the Planet, and any doubt regarding their actual merits will be perceived as an insult. Even minimal restrictions or comparisons with someone greater (or even equally great) will be seen as dehumanizing degradation. A well-worked decile of Jupiter produces (in the relevant areas) great humanitarians, while an unworked one results in claims to this status, with the degree of Jupiter’s affliction determining how pronounced this is.
