Venus-Saturn Semi-Quintile
(Transit Venus → Natal Saturn)

Venus Decile: Social consciousness is significantly more humane than social subconsciousness. When Venusian influence strengthens in the areas of the planet, human feelings soften, moving toward receptivity—especially to beauty in forms and relationships—and one experiences an influx of humanism (in one’s own understanding). At a low level, this indicates extreme capriciousness, where in relevant situations a person perceives any lack of sufficient attention, love, or even a simple mismatch with their aesthetic taste as sharply inhumane (toward themselves). For example, a woman with a Sun-Venus decile may sincerely consider inhumane a man’s initiative who invites her to an evening where the hosts’ restrooms do not meet her standards. When the decile is afflicted, these effects may be emotionally intense, but in reality Venus exerts only an indirect influence on the planetary principle. In its harmonious variant, this is a deceptive aspect, since the humanity expressed through Venus may be mistaken for love, which, unfortunately, is far from the same thing. For instance, a Venus-Mars decile (if not strongly afflicted) may produce a person who behaves humanely, beautifully, and considerately in interactions with the opposite sex, yet elevated romantic love (Venus) and passionate desire (Mars) are blended into humane expressions, which may not satisfy their partner at all. The decile provides an extremely subtle (often even imperceptible to the person themselves) synthesis of planetary principles, indicating great achievements in past incarnations. Saturn Decile: The misfortune of people lies not only in the fact that they do not understand their happiness—but also that they do not understand each other. Interpretation of the aspect depends on the level of Saturn’s integration, the planet involved, and the chart as a whole. At low and medium levels, this aspect brings a specific kind of humanism into the planet’s spheres—a desire to make people happy by maximally restricting their freedom, which (in the person’s view) quickly turns into freedom for evil: both external and internal. This individual sees (in the planet’s areas) human and societal happiness in order, organization, rigid structure, and routine. With an afflicted Saturn, this may take horrific forms (totalitarianism, bureaucracy); with a harmonious Saturn, the person enthusiastically and humanistically, for example, participates in creating artificial environments that separate humanity from uncontrolled and anarchic nature—builders of modern machine civilization. Working through this aspect involves deep study of human nature, primarily as the reality of one’s inner life, and on this path many profound truths can be realized, especially if one begins with self-study and the structure of one’s inner world and subconscious in the areas governed by the planet. Then the rigidity of humanitarian institutions will be replaced by their depth, and in particular, the person will overcome pathological anxieties and feelings of vulnerability in areas related to the planet (for example, an unprocessed Mars-Saturn decile produces a sense of human weakness and inability to withstand aggression, yet with acute effort directed at aggression, or rather, an acute perception of its inhumanity).
