Moon sesquiquadrate: In hardened people, there is an iron shell around the heart; in more sensitive ones, a plastic one. This aspect brings in the areas of the planet a general inner awkwardness and coarseness of perception, along with reflexive habits. For example, with a Moon-Mars sesquiquadrate, a person at a low level best understands the language of violence and tends to express themselves in the same manner, which also applies to their inner life—meaning they can be very harsh with themselves, possibly persecuting, cornering, reshaping without anesthesia, and so on. In the areas of the planet, at a low level this person may provoke mild irritation in others due to their apparent heartlessness and tendency to straightforwardly ignore everything they dislike, paying attention only to their own (usually crude) needs, yet satisfying them with iron determination. Working through this aspect develops the ability to clearly and subtly manage at a distance the corresponding planetary fragments of the subconscious. Mars sesquiquadrate: Generally, things have turned out as they are—if what resulted can be called relationships, and what occurred can be called addition. This person finds it difficult, in the areas of the planet, to direct their energy with flexible responsiveness to circumstances and to react sensitively to external force. Another’s aggression triggers in them a reactive response, often inadequate in both intensity and relevance. At the same time, they may fail to respond for a long time to weak influences, then suddenly explode with outrage over a minor trigger, the drop that overfilled an entirely unrelated cup: subjectively, perhaps justified, but objectively unfair. This person will suffer from the coarseness, energy, and aggression of the external world directed at them; they will find it hard to deal with these forces in a sufficiently civilized manner. Yet at the same time, their aggressive instincts in the areas of the planet will be especially crude and poorly controlled, and their activity will often, without their own awareness, take on harsh forms. For example, an unworked Mars-Saturn sesquiquadrate brings, along with vulnerability to aggression, rigidity in demands toward other people, which may escalate to implacability; it is important for this person to understand that high demands toward others are usually subconsciously motivated by dissatisfaction with oneself, and to become aware of their own failures and shortcomings. Working through this aspect provides perfect tools and enables functioning at high vibrational levels of energy.
