Sesquiquadrate Sun — Uranus
(Transit. Sun → Natal Uranus)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Sesquiquadrate of the Sun: A person must not only fulfill the will of God but also consider that it is his own. This aspect makes a person’s will in the areas governed by the planet imperfect, sometimes too crude a tool. His initiatives often turn out to be too straightforward (if the Sun is in Pisces or Cancer, the person will, accordingly, be overly candid and awkwardly evade responsibility, hiding in his shell). If inclined toward self-observation, he may sometimes feel that a foreign, deliberately crude will seems to mingle with his own. A similar effect is observed in imperative external circumstances that are not outright hostile or openly obstructive (a sesquiquadrate is not a square) but are unfavorably rigid and often actually destroy the most interesting, promising, or attractive moments for the person in the areas governed by the planet. If, however, the external situation is favorable, an internal demon suddenly awakens, brutally roughening things, which the person cannot handle at the level of his lower will. Here, the work involves forming ideals and incorporating higher will and higher direction, as well as carefully analyzing the subconscious programs that govern the interaction of the principles of will and the planet: somewhere here (a hint should be sought in situations of simultaneous activity of the houses occupied by the Sun and the planet) the ego is deeply entrenched, buried in evolutionary programs far below the person’s actual evolutionary level. Processing requires awareness and transformation of this program, after which the person gains the ability to exercise clear and subtle volitional control in the areas governed by the planet. At a low level, this is an aspect of dictators who have a rigid apparatus of external suppression, and their victims.
Sesquiquadrate of Uranus: God does not wish His existence to be established by scientific methods, as they seem insufficiently convincing to Him. This aspect produces a partially clumsy attitude toward Uranian revelations in the areas governed by the planet; the person processes them crudely and without due respect, as a result of which they, like Uranian signs, typically perish. For example, a sesquiquadrate between the Moon and Uranus grants the ability for subtle diagnosis of one’s (and others’) physical ailments, and at a higher level, the person may learn to use their body as the most refined diagnostic instrument for physical fields, predict earthquakes, and so on—but all of this requires great effort, including careful study of one’s biological reactions and interpreting them as reflections of external physical reality, as well as sometimes one’s karma. At a low level, the sesquiquadrate of Uranus in the area governed by the planet manifests as sudden whims and stubbornness, adherence to often clumsy ideas poorly suited for solving relevant problems—in its unworked-through form, this is an aspect of mad inventors with unfinished education. At a high level, inventions succeed, and the person may create remarkable devices, tools, and methods far ahead of their time, though the true significance of their discoveries will most likely remain unclear to them.
