Tridecile of Saturn: In seeking the meaning of another’s life, one may occasionally discover the value of one’s own. When worked through, this aspect gives a person the opportunity for deep and serious engagement with the areas of life governed by the Planet, and in any case, a strong (often unconscious or repressed) desire to participate in this life, where the individual may find self-expression—though always limited and hindered within the spheres ruled by Saturn and its aspects. As a rule, this aspect makes a person fearful, insecure, and extremely cautious toward any manifestations of life perceived as intimately connected with them personally. In the harmonious variant, this self-doubt quickly passes, but caution and conscientiousness remain, and combined with the depth of aspirations, often lead to full immersion in the life areas and developmental fields of the Planet, a profound understanding of the relevant issues, and constructive help in resolving them—if the person begins to engage with them. If Saturn is afflicted, the person’s insecurity regarding themselves and the life spheres of the Planet will prove justified; initially, they will feel very awkward and out of place, suffering as a result, yet simultaneously (when the tridecile is activated) will desire contact with this life and comprehension of its developmental challenges with redoubled intensity. Working through this aspect will bring deep understanding, the ability to offer adequate help, and human satisfaction from it. Tridecile of Neptune: To understand means to incorporate into one’s karmic program. The well-aspected configuration allows deep involvement in the life issues and developmental spheres of the Planet, awakening and realizing a cosmic love for this life, through which the individual discovers their human essence. Afflicted Neptune may produce a strong (often irrational) sense of guilt toward life processes in the Planet’s domain and an unhealthy attitude toward the corresponding problems, causing the person to perceive them with significant distortions, sympathizing inappropriately and helping where it is not needed. Harmonious Neptune initially brings pure ecstasy from the mere idea of participating in the life of the Planet’s spheres of influence, allowing the person to integrate into them fairly successfully, though superficially (if they wish and circumstances permit), but the main challenges and acute developmental points will be smoothed over or camouflaged by the harmonious Neptune. This aspect possesses weak protective action, but its primary manifestations are the capacity for sincere and loving assistance developing within the life areas of the Planet, where the individual may find indirect happiness.
