Saturn’s tridecile: In seeking meaning in another’s life, one may occasionally gain significance in one’s own. When worked through, this aspect gives a person the opportunity for deep and serious engagement with the areas of life governed by the Planet, and in any case, a strong (often unconscious or repressed) desire to participate in this life, where one can find self-expression—though always limited and hindered in the spheres ruled by Saturn and its aspects. As a rule, this aspect makes a person fearful, insecure, and extremely cautious toward any manifestations of life they perceive as intimately connected to themselves. In the harmonious variant, this self-doubt quickly passes, but caution and conscientiousness remain, and combined with depth of aspiration, often lead to full immersion in the life areas and developmental fields of the Planet, excellent understanding of the relevant issues, and constructive help in resolving them—if the person begins to engage with them. If Saturn is afflicted, the person’s insecurity regarding themselves and the Planet’s life spheres will prove justified; initially, they will feel very awkward and out of place, suffering as a result, yet at the same time (when the tridecile is activated) will intensely desire contact with this life and comprehension of its developmental challenges. Working through this aspect will bring deep understanding, the ability to offer adequate help, and human satisfaction from it. Uranus’ tridecile: Non-being is by no means equivalent to not-being. This aspect brings in the Planet’s spheres a shared interest and more than original ideas concerning the process of life development and solving its specific problems, though overall the person’s attitude toward this life will be interested and benevolent. Their ideas and considerable energy may prove highly constructive, provided Uranus is to some degree worked through (meaning a creative individual in general, regardless of their specific pursuits), but even then, these ideas will require development and materialization in relation to concrete developmental problems within the Planet’s spheres—requiring the working through of its principle. Otherwise, energy will remain in the form of high-voltage discharges, like thunderbolts striking the imagination with their power, yet quickly vanishing without leaving any consequences. This aspect has a certain protective effect, but the person usually does not notice it or attributes it to chance; however, Uranian signs, appearing as unusual whims of life in areas ruled by the Planet, can reveal much—if one learns to read them, particularly helping to precisely understand, and often even find solutions to, developmental problems in the Planet’s spheres.
