Conjunction Sun – Saturn Het Monster: Constant pursuit of the powerful. Inferiority complex. Overcoming difficulties is achieved only through extremely hard work and the most severe self-discipline. Saturn ahead of the Sun — all unfavorable predictions are mitigated. With other favorable aspects and a well-placed 10th house — intellect, scientific activity.
Catherine Obье: Aspect Sun — Saturn. The conjunction of conscientiousness and firmness produces a type of person with ambitions who, however, prefers to remain inconspicuous and would rather choose the role of a grey eminence than take royal regalia. He has no illusions that the whole world rests on his shoulders, and does not spare effort to achieve his goals, although he often begins tasks with delay (Saturn’s influence). Serious, clear-minded, sets goals for himself and generally achieves them. Psychologically, this aspect often indicates a “fixation” on the father figure, to which the person constantly refers when performing both good and bad actions.
A. Podvodny: Conjunction Sun – Saturn. Conjunction with the Sun: “Called a bolete — crawl into the cart.” Conjunction of a Planet with the Sun gives its manifestations a shade of imperative quality — at a high level of aspect development. At a low level, the imperative mainly concerns the necessity of processing the Planet. The Sun highlights the lower expressions of its principle and actualizes them, primarily through direct pressure. At a low level of Sun development, it acts through rigid imperatives imposed upon the Planet, suppressing its creative impulse and forcing its principle to manifest within very narrowly defined boundaries into which it cannot possibly fit, resulting in excessive inner tension and an explosion, with creativity of the Absolute expressing itself precisely in the form and trajectory of fragments. If the conjunction is unprocessed but well-aspected, these explosions will be more dangerous to others, and the Planet’s creative impulse will manifest only through a strictly egoistic consumption within the spheres corresponding to its principle. For example, an unprocessed conjunction of the Sun with Mars produces great but futile activity, which, however, seems extremely important and useful to the person himself, while on the other hand, there is an ability to completely drain another’s energy, leaving the other person literally powerless and without even a hint of gratitude. Processing the conjunction (and the Sun) leads to a shift toward a higher egregore, where solar initiative moves beyond rigid command, instead serving as a suggestion of desired direction and, most importantly, attention. Then the interaction between the Sun and the Planet is significantly eased, and the Planet receives from the Sun a kind of weak magnetization, which serves as orientation in complex (for the Planet) conditions when the optimal choice is not obvious.
Conjunction with Saturn: Over time, it slows down by itself. The problem lies in noticing this. Conjunction of a Planet with Saturn compresses and freezes its principle; the karmic requirement here is deep processing, particularly freeing the Planet’s principle from superficial egoistic programs that demand concrete payment for any minor effort. For example, the conjunction of Saturn with Mercury produces a person who poorly understands things not thoroughly thought through by him, and struggling against this is futile. If the person attempts — which is very typical for a low level of aspect development — to ignore the intense pressure of Saturn forcing him to think long and carefully, his rational thinking will literally jam, and he will lose all reasoning ability altogether, experiencing the creativity of the Absolute in the form of various absurd and tragic situations, revealing his laziness and irresponsibility. At the initial stage of processing the Saturn conjunction, withdrawal into oneself and contemplation of the Planet’s principle within the framework of one’s own life and life philosophy is required, most often motivated by prolonged external limitations. Further processing proceeds under less harsh conditions than the initial phase, but here the person must demonstrate voluntary humility and voluntary submission to the Planet’s principle in specific situations. Breakthrough into great creativity within the spheres ruled by the Planet becomes possible, although initially it is hard to believe, since the conjunction with Saturn gives, on the contrary, the impression not merely of lacking talent, but of a negative quantity of ability — often an inferiority complex — and at the same time an extraordinarily strong and deep inner desire for mastery.
