Venus-Mars Conjunction

Conjunction Venus – Mars Het Monster: Passion in any area of creativity. Emotional nature, love of life, aggression combined with charm. It is important who dominates: Venus or Mars. With adverse aspects – immorality, danger through women, and for women – lack of principles. Usually – selfishness.

Catherine Haïm: Conjunction Venus – Mars
Conjunction: fusion of emotional and sexual. Love fully captivates a person; their feelings are open and sincere in expression. They do not absolutize the sensual side of life. Their desires are natural, direct; sexual behavior is free from perversions or excessive vanity; relationships with the opposite sex are harmonious and free of complications. When the conjunction is in very adverse aspect, its meaning approaches that of an opposition: love as desire and love as tenderness are perceived as incompatible—thus physical attraction and gentle, affectionate fondness are rarely directed simultaneously toward the same person. In other cases, this aspect corresponds to love as battle, love as duel. This is a conflict in which one emerges victorious and the other defeated. The person thinks only of their own desires and their satisfaction, forgets the existence of the other, or behaves like a child.

A. Podvodny: Conjunction Venus – Mars
Conjunction with Venus: One can benefit society only after first separating oneself from it. Conjunction with Venus imparts strong social and aesthetic emphases to the planet’s principle. At a low level, in the spheres ruled by the planet, this person will be aesthetically capricious and socially conditioned; public opinion and the principle of “as people do” will be highly significant for them, and freeing the planet’s principle from the influence of social clichés will be difficult. This sometimes results in unpredictable effects when attempting to apply social stereotypes in completely inappropriate situations—in which the creative signature of the Absolute manifests (at this level). Another characteristic of Venus’s influence on the planet in conjunction with it is an emphasis on love, not necessarily erotic. Working through the aspect brings Divine light to any manifestation of the planet. At a low level, the person does not perceive manifestations of the planet unless a considerable amount of love directed toward them or social attention is added, although (karmically) they should not so much receive as radiate love in corresponding situations. For example, a child with Venus in conjunction with Saturn can be made to study systematically or simply concentrate only through kindness, affection, love, gentle persuasion, etc., but never through force; and public ridicule will literally force them to cower in a corner and burst into tears. At a low level, Venus relaxes the planet, making the person a social parasite and refined egoist in corresponding areas, but through conscious work, egoism gives way to service to others. For instance, conjunction of Venus with the Moon may produce a glutton and gourmet concerned exclusively with their stomach, but when worked through, it can produce an excellent performer—likewise in their sexual life.

Conjunction with Mars: The true burden is invisible. True strength is imperceptible. Conjunction with Mars gives the planet strength, which at a low level is destructive. The planet’s principle appears inflated by energy, but, lacking the ability to channel it constructively, it most often manifests as aggression and destruction. For example, unworked conjunction of Mars with the Moon produces aggression directed against one’s own organism, and with Saturn—extraordinary obstacles when attempting introspection and concentration, such as a football suddenly crashing through the window with a ringing sound and flying into the room. Here, working through the aspect involves less the suppression of excess energy in the areas ruled by the planet (although initially this skill is necessary) and more the refinement of the conjunction’s energy and raising its vibrational level. For instance, with Mars conjunct the Moon, it is better not to develop muscular strength but to learn mastery of psychic energy, etc.; and with Mars conjunct Saturn, it is better to direct effort not toward fighting temptations and distractions, but toward increasing the depth of concentration and the power of focus. At a high level, Mars provides the planet with precisely the energy it needs in each specific case, qualitatively enhancing its creative potential. But for this, one must recognize the fallacy of the attractive principle “strong means good” and eliminate the forceful subjugation of the planet to Mars, typical of the lower and middle levels—especially when Mars is in conjunction with Venus, where a person long perceives and values beauty only when combined with an element of visible strength.
