Mercury – Neptune conjunction Het Monster: With favorable aspects – spiritualized love. With an overall good horoscope – therapeutic talent. Sensitivity to beauty, depth of emotional experience. Rich imagination, productive subconscious. With unfavorable aspects – impracticality, castles in the air, unreliability.
Catherine Aubier: Venus – Neptune conjunction Conjunction: complete confusion in the emotional sphere, fully absorbing the soul and feelings. We are dealing with a romantic idealist who knows no obstacles or boundaries in mutual love. Sometimes his desire to mold the beloved into his ideal leads him to a peculiar “Pygmalion complex”: once elevated onto the pedestal of harmony, the object of love is no longer allowed to step down from it. Often love is directed more toward an idea, something unreal, rather than toward an earthly being, who in such cases acts more as a symbol.
A. Podvodny: Venus – Neptune conjunction Venus conjunction: One can benefit society only after first separating oneself from it. Conjunction with Venus gives the planet’s principle strong social and aesthetic emphases; at a low level, in the spheres ruled by the planet, this person will be aesthetically capricious and socially conditioned—public opinion and the principle of “as people do” will be highly significant for him, and freeing the planet’s principle from the influence of social clichés will be difficult, sometimes leading to unpredictable effects when attempting to apply social stereotypes in entirely inappropriate situations, in which the creative signature of the Absolute manifests itself (at this level). Another characteristic of Venus’s influence on the planet in conjunction with it is the emphasis on love, not necessarily erotic. Working through the aspect brings Divine light to any manifestation of the planet; at a low level, the person does not perceive manifestations of the planet unless a considerable amount of love directed toward him or social attention is added, although (karmically) he should not so much receive as radiate love in corresponding situations. For example, a child with Venus in conjunction with Saturn can be made to study systematically or simply concentrate only through kindness, affection, love, gentle persuasion, etc., but never through coercion, and public ridicule will literally force him to cower in a corner and burst into tears. At a low level, Venus relaxes the planet, making the person a social parasite and refined egoist in corresponding areas, but through working on the aspect, egoism gives way to service to people; for instance, the conjunction of Venus with the Moon may produce a glutton and gourmet who cares exclusively about his stomach, whereas after working on it, a wonderful performer may emerge—the same applies to his sexual life.
Neptune conjunction: It is difficult for a person who has no soul to believe in the immortality of the soul. In the areas ruled by the planet together with Neptune, the person finds it hard to concentrate: meditation begins, which (without working on the aspect) is guided by lower programs of the subconscious, attempting to place all manifestations of the planet’s principle in service to the ego. Neptune creates constant distortion of perception, false positions, temptations of conscious and unconscious deception in corresponding spheres, and it is very difficult to free oneself from these influences, since an unworked conjunction produces a very deep and strong penetration of Neptune’s lower octave into the planet’s principles. If Neptune is in conjunction with Venus, at a low level of aspect development the person will constantly fall into false positions and simply lie in social contacts and love, yet both of these, along with accessible forms of art, will be for him sources of endless pleasure, and proper development can produce a true connoisseur of art, or even more. Much more difficult is the development of the conjunction of Neptune with Saturn, since the lower octave of Neptune diverts Saturn’s eyes, rendering the person practically incapable of concentration (he quickly slips into lower meditation, and attention drifts away) and self-absorption, which are necessary for cultivating discipline and inner honesty. Here, working on Pluto helps (which, by the way, throughout the second half of the 20th century was in sextile to Neptune, promising support)—the only planet capable of dispelling Neptune’s illusions and deception. At a high level of development, the conjunction with Neptune gives the person, in the spheres ruled by the planet, a rare ability for true understanding, high meditations, and outward actions through which the person can express the Ineffable, though not everyone is capable of perceiving this.
