Such a person feels most at ease only in battle; they constantly expose someone’s hypocrisy or principles, without concern that their criticism may cause harm. There is much boastfulness; they are determined to be in power, highly sensitive, and hate having to justify the correctness of their actions to anyone. They see themselves as the executor of the most important mission, constantly striving to lecture and instruct others.

Mars square: A razor used to sharpen a writer’s pen should not be used to chop cabbage. The square of Mars imparts coarseness and disharmonious force to the planetary expressions, destroying its principle in all subtle manifestations. This destruction occurs both in the inner and outer world, and if the person does not attempt to counteract it, it can be quite severe. Karmically, the Mars square signifies a prohibition against direct, immediate-energetic expression of the planetary principle (which never turns out harmonious or constructive) and demands the cultivation of its higher octave. Internally, the person is deeply interested in the areas ruled by the planet; they are drawn there by some force, and their opinion of their abilities (and often achievements) in these areas may be very high, although failures and disappointments will not be long in coming. At a low level, this person may be dangerous to others in the planet’s domains, but they always pose the greatest danger to themselves. In the case of a Mars square, the karmic law of retribution for introducing disharmony into the world operates energetically and often quite swiftly (though sometimes the backlash affects only the person’s inner world, where internal destruction occurs, which may remain unnoticed by others, except for the fact that the person’s overall level drops sharply). In inner life, this aspect allows for significant growth, awareness of one’s crude subconscious programs, including nearly animal instincts, which in this case are presented very vividly and distinctly, especially when the planet is activated, and their transformation into a more civilized and acceptable form, that is, a transition to higher vibrational energies. Working through this aspect enables operating with the planet on low energies while revealing such subtleties of its principle that are otherwise completely inaccessible. The person will know everything about the destructive power of the planet in its lower octave, giving them insight into its manifestations in others and the ability to help them work through its principle, especially in taming their lower nature in corresponding areas; however, they will still never fully master a free flow of its vibrations at a low level. For example, a Mars-Venus square may produce a refined sensualist or an excellent sexologist, but this person will never become a sexual giant. Jupiter square: True greatness requires not proof, but dimension. The Jupiter square promises the planet much… unfortunately, most often it remains limited to these promises. In the areas ruled by the planet, the person feels their greatness—not only potential, but actual—but others usually do not see it or doubt it, and the actual greatness somehow fails to manifest. The Jupiter square gives the planet expansion, but somehow not the kind the person desires: either not in the right direction, or in a style alien to them, or simply not what they wanted. At least, that’s how it seems to the person. This square (which can be called the aspect of Lucifer) brings the temptation of pride, superficiality, and obtaining too easily something not quite what the person truly wanted, and certainly not what they need for evolutionary development. In the planet’s areas, the person shows a constant superficial interest in “higher matters,” philosophical generalizations, and abstract-religious approaches, but they tend to stop precisely at the point where something truly important and interesting for them begins, unless it comes in the form of a luxurious gift requiring no effort. For example, a Venus-Jupiter square with an emphasized Jupiter may produce someone who attracts a great deal of love, appears beautiful, interesting, and unusual at first glance, but in actual love relationships turns out to be completely absorbed in themselves, their beauty, and general splendor, utterly incapable (and unwilling) to even briefly meet the gaze of hopelessness regarding social (let alone emotional and sexual) connections, yet their arrogance does not diminish. Karmically, this aspect signifies the need (in the planet’s areas) to learn to treat the gifts and doors of fate that open with great caution and care, understanding that they imply further work and are ultimately intended for the world, not for the person themselves. At a low level, the person in corresponding areas tends (if there is even minimal opportunity) to play the role of a generous benefactor, which they perform extremely poorly, as their self-interest and the inappropriateness or unnecessary nature of their benevolence are transparent, and their overall clumsiness evokes more irritation than pity or gratitude. Working through this aspect grants the rare ability to karmically manage one’s luck correctly, and by rejecting false opportunities and temptations, to receive the priceless gift of true help on the spiritual path, as well as insight into similar problems in others and the capacity (in the planet’s areas) to guide another onto the true path, showing them the karmic role of their temptations and illusions.
