Sun — Mars Square
(Transit. Sun → Natal Mars)
Different sources for the child’s horoscope
Due to stubbornness and overly impulsive behavior, this child is “their own worst enemy.” When faced with obstacles, they lose their temper, get irritated, and want to achieve their goal at any cost. Risk of injuries and accidents. If the aspect is in a cardinal sign, it manifests as impulsiveness and anger; in a fixed sign, as stubbornness and resentment; in a mutable sign, as irritability and wasting energy on unnecessary relationships.

Overly impulsive behavior, the person is their own worst enemy. When encountering an obstacle, they get irritated and try to achieve their goal at any cost. If the aspect is in a cardinal sign, it manifests as impulsiveness and anger; in a fixed sign, as stubbornness and resentment; in a mutable sign, as irritability and wasting energy on futile matters. A hard square (Mars—Sun) produces athletes in “high-risk” sports (e.g., biathlon); they may also become surgeons.
Catherine Aubier. Astrological Dictionary
Opposition, square: aggression turns against the Sun as a symbol. This results in rebellion, confrontation, conflicts, and revolt against authority. Discord between thought and action, the need for self-assertion through negation or through violence and repression. Psychologically, this may indicate a fear of the masculine principle as an embodiment of aggression. Note that opposition here signifies rebellion—sometimes restrained or hidden—while the square exerts its influence in more overt forms.
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Sun square: Never blame the mirror under any circumstances. The square places the planet under the impact of disharmonious impulses of human will and imperative external circumstances. Naturally, the person themselves does not tend to consider their volitional expressions as disharmonious, and at a low level, they will not notice their own rudeness, harshness, or incompetence. However, they will keenly sense these qualities in their environment and other people when the planet’s principle is activated. At the second or third level of processing the square, the person may feel as though they have inner and outer enemies whose sole purpose—sometimes in a crude form—is to prevent the planet’s principle from manifesting. For example, with a Sun—Moon square, the person may unwittingly make rude mistakes and display tactlessness in their dealings with women, possibly fearing and disliking them in secret, while simultaneously feeling a strong pull toward them, as their inner image of the mother-figure is significantly distorted and active. If the Sun is in Aries, aggression and harshness are possible; if in Pisces, false positions and misguided initiatives with unpleasant consequences may arise, and so on. The person pays impersonal attention to what is happening in the planet’s spheres; external initiative is only allowed when forced by circumstances, and even then to a minimal extent, as it usually leads to disharmonious outcomes. From the perspective of inner development, this aspect is highly promising for acquiring true mastery over oneself in the planet’s sphere and transitioning to service of a higher egregore, which signifies a more creative and internally free life. With good energy, one may attempt to master the disharmonious external will and redirect it outward toward others—an aspect of the “black teachers,” especially with a pronounced Sun square to higher planets. Working through this aspect grants the ability to operate subtly, following barely perceptible instructions from a higher egregore, weaving the finest threads of karma that may pertain to distant futures. Mars square: Do not use a razor honed for writing to chop cabbage. The Mars square gives the planet’s expressions roughness, disharmonious force that destroys its principle in all subtle manifestations. This destruction occurs both internally and externally, and if the person does not resist it, it can be quite strong. Karmaically, the Mars square signifies a prohibition on direct, energetic expression of the planet’s principle (which never emerges harmonious or constructive) and demands the processing of its higher octave. The person is internally drawn to the spheres governed by the planet; some force pulls them there, and their opinion of their abilities (and often their achievements) in these spheres may be very high, though failures and disappointments will not be long in coming. At a low level, this person may sometimes be dangerous to others in the planet’s spheres, but they always face the greatest danger themselves. In the case of a Mars square, the law of karma, which repays the introduction of disharmony into the world, acts swiftly and energetically (sometimes, however, the backlash strikes only the person’s inner world, where inner destruction occurs, which may go unnoticed by others, except for the fact that the person’s overall level drops sharply). In inner life, this aspect offers significant growth potential, awareness of one’s crude subconscious programs, including nearly animalistic instincts represented in this case very prominently and distinctly—especially when the planet is activated—and their transformation into a more civilized and acceptable form, i.e., a transition to higher vibrational energies. Working through this aspect grants the ability to work with the planet on subtle energies while revealing nuances of its principle that would otherwise remain inaccessible. The person will know everything about the destructive force of the planet in its lower octave, which will give them insight into its manifestations in others and the ability to help them process its principle, especially in taming their lower nature in the relevant spheres. However, they will never fully master its free-flowing vibrations at a low level; for example, a Mars—Venus square may produce a refined libertine or an excellent sexologist, but this person will never become a sexual giant.
A. Ryzhov. Health, ASC, Sun, Moon
Mars brings a lot of heat. It increases vitality. A negative aspect to the Sun increases vitality but causes fevers. Fevers mean temperatures of 40°C, sometimes even reaching 41°C, persisting for three days. All toxins are burned out. The frequency of fevers depends on the degree of the body’s toxicity. Fevers, inflammatory disorders, cuts, wounds, and accidents.
Frances Sakoian. Aspects
Overly energetic and impulsive behavior; the person is their own worst enemy. When faced with an obstacle, they lose their temper, which compels them to achieve their goal by any means. Others find this infuriating, considering it arrogance and selfishness. One must exercise restraint, avoid such situations, think before acting, curb aggression, and be tactful and diplomatic, as goals are best achieved through patience without resorting to quarrels, which waste energy. If the aspect is in a cardinal sign, it manifests as impulsiveness and anger; in a fixed sign, as stubbornness and resentment; in a mutable sign, as irritability and wasting energy on unnecessary relationships.
S.V. Shestopalov. Aspects of Planets
The qualities of these aspects include a quick-tempered, impatient, strong character; passionate, fiery, impulsive, aggressive, hasty, reckless, willful, obstinate, touchy, highly egotistical; a tendency to get into dangerous situations; a propensity for danger, risk, carelessness, impatience, recklessness, foolhardy courage, harshness, bluntness, excessive candor, conflict, enemies; an unyielding nature. For women, this position is unfavorable for marriage. If the person works on themselves, it can bestow strength, willpower, ambition, energy, the ability to quickly grasp and assess situations, make swift decisions, and act in dangerous circumstances, fight for a just cause, honesty, and disregard for danger.
