Quincunx Venus — Chiron
(Transit. Venus → Natal Chiron)
Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects
Quincunx of Venus: A good artist strives to convey Divine love to people, a bad one — to himself. This aspect creates a much more painful contrast than the semi-sextile between social and, in general, earthly ethics and aesthetics versus cosmic ones, while both will somehow independently manifest in the person’s subconscious in the spheres governed by the planet. Their karmic task will be to reconcile them, for which the person must be able to abandon the planet’s sphere from a cosmic point of view and only then judge earthly matters. At a low level, the person lacks the strength and wisdom for this, and their ethics and aesthetics feel like a bizarre mix of earthly and cosmic elements, in which they themselves cannot make sense, sometimes confusing them. At an average level, however, strong internal conflicts may arise, as earthly potholes can only be bypassed with the help of cosmic ski poles, which may seem inappropriate or even impossible from the standpoint of social ethics — its frameworks already feel too narrow, yet refusing it feels like a further dilution. For example, the quincunx Venus–Mars will create peculiar social issues related to aggression: external, internal, and hidden. The person will face situations where, according to earthly ethics, resisting evil with force is necessary — but not with the force they possess, rather with one of a much higher vibrational level, and they will need to do this throughout life.
Quincunx of Chiron: One should wash their hands before playing with words. This aspect brings a peculiar cosmic-tinged sense of humor into the planet’s spheres; in fact, viewing earthly relationships from a cosmic perspective alone provides ample reason for genuine laughter (or just as genuine tears). At a low level, the aspect manifests in the person constantly switching between earthly and cosmic views in the planet’s spheres, throwing their psyche into chaos and turning constructive progress into wandering down dead ends — though each dead end is short-lived, the person fails to find a satisfactory way to behave. Most importantly, they cannot understand the meaning of the difficulties that arise, their general origin, or their cause. The karmic task of this aspect is to find an unexpected way of seeing in the planet’s spheres that reconciles cosmic and earthly karma, and then the dead ends of development that seemed lifeless for years will open up. For example, the quincunx Chiron–Pluto, when worked through, offers the opportunity to find a channel for cosmic purification that is acceptable from the standpoint of earthly karma — that is, relatively painless and not creating great tension or karmic knots. However, to achieve this, the person must first reach a level of mastery over their subconscious and its purity that even Pluto would find impressive. At an average level, this quincunx produces black humor with a cosmic tint and an overall backdrop of utter hopelessness, which must be learned to overcome and transform in order not to fall into the impasse of black nihilistic teaching.
