Be prepared for some of your own ideas to be challenged by this unconventional thinker, who will let you know his opinions quite openly. You’d better adopt an attitude of tolerant interest — without emotional reactions. Emotions do not influence him. Logic and reason can persuade, but not emotions, let alone appeals to standards accepted by others. But keep in mind that by challenging or questioning authority, your child will likely be learning in the best way for him. Provide him with a learning environment that encourages intellectual freedom and where the latest technologies are explored.
