Mars semi-square: The sledgehammer of official ideology does not so much shatter as it compacts subversive thoughts of citizens. In the areas ruled by the Planet, the individual has limited means for expressing their activity, although this is not immediately obvious. If one manages to find a combination of these means convenient for one’s purposes, the effect can be excellent; more often, however, the person will feel a certain discomfort, the causes of which remain a complete mystery to individuals at low and medium levels of development. For example, the Mercury-Mars semi-square results in poor motor coordination, yet some individual movements may be perfect, and with effort, by combining them, a person might even achieve success in certain sports, although becoming a champion with this aspect is difficult. A person with an unprocessed Moon-Mars square will be crude in personal perception and expression, sensitive, sharp, and generally quite difficult to deal with, as long as they demand that external reality adapt to them; whereas once they set themselves the goal of serving reality, they will gradually gain broad channels for self-expression and constructive activity, although initially they will, of course, be awkward—yet sincerity and selflessness will greatly mitigate this. At a low level, especially with strong energetic support, the individual will tend to subjugate the world in the planet’s spheres to their (perfectly certain) ideas about how these spheres should be, and resistance to this can be very difficult. For instance, the Mars-Mercury semi-square (particularly in a harmonious configuration) imparts great cunning and agility, which at first glance may appear as wisdom or intelligence. Jupiter semi-square: To whom much is given, much more will be required. This is the aspect of homegrown philosophers in the planet’s sphere. Here, the person’s thinking will be largely dogmatic, the main building blocks of which, upon closer inspection, turn out to be very solid and equally immovable, making it quite difficult to construct from them a light, heaven-directed temple. In its harmonious variant, such a person may display in the planet’s spheres a tendency toward philanthropy, but usually narrowly understood and ultimately not entirely selfless, resulting from failure to fully grasp the subtleties of the planetary principle and its broad assimilation. Generally, Jupiter brings happiness and expanded opportunities, but in this case it occurs somehow mechanically and formally, without regard for the person’s true desires, so that their joy is often poisoned, or what happens may seem to them utterly mocking—like receiving a stuffed puppy instead of a real one for their birthday. This element of formal benevolence and mistaken advocacy is overcome with great difficulty, especially since the person receives from life (in the planet’s spheres) not the best examples to follow; nonetheless, processing this requires deep (not broad) penetration into the planet’s spheres and using one’s available resources truly for the purpose of helping others, regardless of strengthening one’s sense of self-importance, and then within the temple built by the person, the voice of God will truly resound.
